How is Eva to find out how the tricks are done? What does the audience do with her?
She visits Mr. Duskfell the next day
Eva got back home to her estate, still cognizant of all the jeers headed in her direction but more preoccupied with the magic trick at hand.
She thought long and hard about that experience, how she didn't realize she was naked until she looked down, but did notice the wind beforehand. She had a few hypotheses about this turn of events. The first was that the wind created or was associated with a vacuum that sucked off her clothing, but she believed that the corset she was wearing would have suffered damage as a result and she didn't find any when she got back home. The second was that the wind was but a mere distraction for a mechanical apparatus to undress her - then again, investigating her clothing before bed she didn't see any damage, but then again it could have been because her attire was black.
In any event, the curiosity ate her up inside and she simply had to know. So, she found the address of Corwin Duskfell's offices in Hyde Park and made herself at his presence at 10 o' clock the following morning. She dressed plainly, not bothering to hide the flaws of her body after last night, but made sure to have her servants assemble a long-sleeved smock made of paper that would certainly be too unwieldy to remove in an expedient manner without damage, and under it wore pastel colors that would also show any incidental tears, wears, or burns.
"What. Is it?" Corwin asked through gritted teeth, annoyed by the rude guest from last night interrupting his day yet again.
"Mr. Duskfell," Eva began with deference.
"Oh, it's not 'Mr. Corwin' anymore, is it?", Corwin interrupted her with noticeable peevedness.
"Mr. Duskfell," Eva continued almost curtsying, "I really remain quite impressed with the trick you performed last night. I would like discuss it more at length to satisfy my curiosity."
"What, so you can make a performance of it yourself and attract my customers' money?" Corwin sighed yet again.
"Well," Eva chuckled to herself, "I find it doubtful I or even my servants could muster the dexterity to reproduce your act to an audience's satisfaction - this is a matter of quieting my own mind as to the mechanism of my... disrobing last night."
"Well, if you'd like the privilege of being naked in public yet again," Corwin shot back as Eva blushed deeply, "I am free until noon but my services are 4s 11¾d an hour - but if you still cannot figure out how the trick works at the end of it, it'll be an extra 10 bob to get your clothes back and I shan't help you any more afterwards."
Eva was stunned at the prospect of spending up to an entire pound sterling to try to figure out how he could strip her like that, and then come out of it with decency. She hoped she had that money with her, and debated what to do now.
"Oh," Corwin continued, "and I might have other visitors in this office before I must set out."
Does Eva take up the offer? Does she have the full pound?
