She speaks first

I sat dumbfounded for a while and, just as I was about to say something boring about the weather, she suddenly stuck her hand out, a bit awkwardly.

"I'm Sally, its a pleasure to meet you Robin." she says with a bit of a wobbly voice and a bit of laughter. it seemed pretty clear that she was also very nervous. is it strange to say I took a bit of comfort in that? I reluctantly took her hand and shook it. her hands were very soft, and warm...it was a little distracting.

"I guess you already know my name then" I chuckled, trying to keep it cool. just then a waitress came up to break the tension, or at least I thought they were a waitress, but on further inspection I saw they were wearing a male uniform. Their face was smooth and cute and they wore a set of ear studs in their ears and had their short black hair swept to one side. they had a wide smile with dimples on either corner of their lips. They put menu's in front of us and spoke up in an effeminate voice with the slightest hint of an accent.

"how ya doin sally? nice day?" they said before looking at me. they leaned in close to sally and seemed to pretend to try to whisper. "this that boy you were talking about?" they say with a smirk. "you're right he is kinda cute" she says before sally pushes them away with a red face. "shhhhh!"

the wait staff giggles before turning to me, whose face was also red, they smirked, clearly this is what they had planned on. "What can I get you to drink sugar?" they said without missing a beat.

"Uh, can I get some coffee please?"

"sure thing sugar, would you like some cream with that?" They winked at that last part, and I honestly must have blacked out for a second because before I knew what had happened I was sitting in front of a cup of coffee with no less than 5 little cups of cream next to me. I blinked, dumbfounded but thanked them anyways.

they looked over at sally again and smiled. "so, is he coming tonight?" they asked

"uh, we havent really gotten to that yet, we will though."

"uh-huh...well, why dont I give ya a bit to decide on your order" they say, leaning down to sally one more time and whispering "dont chicken out now" before sally play slaps them and shoo's them away.

I sit there befuddled before finally speaking up. "what was that all about?" I asked

she sighed and rolled her eyes, clearly she was used to this sort of antic. "That was Elias, we mostly just call him Elly." it was good to finally have confirmation on the pronouns, but I still had so many questions.

"What was he talking about? He asked If I was coming tonight. Coming where?"

she shuffled around a bit, nerves very apparent. "theres kinda this sorta gathering tonight, theres gonna be a bonfire, dancing, someone'll bring drinks...It was just an idea, I wasnt sure if I would actually bring it up but since Elly brought it up I guess I have to invite you." she twiddles her thumbs as she avoids eye contact. it was adorable.

the offer sounded very nice, and I was tempted to accept on the spot, but I had to think for a moment. a nightime bonfire with dancing? I kept thinking back to the dream...not that part, the other part. the pixie had mentioned something about a witch. I couldnt be sure if this invitation was for a regular party, or if this was a witch thing....it was really tempting too. what should I do?
