She is pregnant with Ezechiel's child

A/N: Yeah, I know we've been focusing a lot on Ezechiel and Kazuko lately, but next chapter will see us focusing back on Abirit and us (the MC)! Stay tuned!

A part of Ezechiel should have seen it coming, but fucking a woman bareback always carried the risk of impregnation, and especially since it was a spur of the moment, Ezechiel could only wallow in misery at causing this unplanned pregnancy for his teacher's colleague Harukichi.

Ever since Ezechiel and Kazuko came clean to Urumi, a happier atmosphere took hold of the Yamane family, and they celebrated their marriage with a private party for both privacy and other reasons.

And though they had not told Ezechiel's parents yet, there were plans to do so soon enough.

But now, with Harukichi's unplanned pregnancy, they had to settle this issue with her one way or another.

It was within Kazuko's house that the three of them met, and an uncomfortable silence permeated the air as Harukichi stared at Ezechiel and Kazuko, cradling her belly.

"I never expected I'd be pregnant again at this age," Said Harukichi, "And certainly not by a student."

Ezechiel could not say anything to that.

"But, just so you know, I don't intend to blame you for this," Said Harukichi, "After all, I was the one who made the first move."

"What? But you..."

"I know, I know, I still got pregnant by your seed, Ezechiel," Said Harukichi, "Can we agree to move on from there?"

"I suppose..." Said Kazuko, "So what will you do now?"

"Take care of the baby," Said Harukichi, "I got pregnant on my terms, it's only reasonable I take responsibility for its wellbeing."

"I see..." Said Ezechiel, "I intend to take responsibility for the baby."

"You already have Kazuko and a baby boy," Said Harukichi, "If you claim responsibility as my baby's father, I'm afraid nothing good will come out of it."

"Even then, I can't just do nothing about it... I don't know," Said Ezechiel, "I guess I just want to do something, at the very least."

"I appreciate the thought," Said Harukichi, "And... there is one more thing I need to confess."

And Harukichi lovingly kissed Ezechiel.

"I love you. I love you so much."

And a single tear streaked down her face.

"And that's why... I want you to forget about my feelings."

"Why does it have to be like that?" Asked Ezechiel, "C-Can't we do something about that? We can just-"

"Ezechiel, please, listen to me," Said Harukichi, "You're a husband and a father. You don't need to deal with additional baggage, okay? And besides... my children are already asking me if I'm remarrying. I already told them I'm not, but..."

"Ezechiel... she has a point," Said Kazuko.

"..."

For Ezechiel, having to deal with a brokenhearted woman was a terrible thing; he dealt with rejection by girls before, either because they did not find him attractive or they already had boyfriends, but for a woman to confess her love and then tell him to forget about it?

He felt torn between maintaining his commitment to Kazuko, and to requiting Harukichi's feelings.

Ezechiel bit his lip at this, then said, "...At the very least, I want to do right by you and your baby. Let me help babysit him or something, okay?"

Then, biting back a curse, Kazuko then said, "Ah, what the heck? I'm against you telling him to forget about your feelings as well, I find."

"What!? But I-"

Ezechiel kissed Harukichi at that moment, shocking her speechless.

"We're going to find a way to make this work," Said Ezechiel resolutely, "We're going to make all of us happy, and you're not going to sacrifice your happiness, okay?"

The drama that unfolded resembled a terribly-written cheesy soap opera - one of countless hundreds Harukichi watched on Television - and seemed completely unrealistic in real life. Society preferred monogamy over polygamy, and if they were ever caught, chances were that all of them would be the subject of negative scrutiny for the rest of their life. Harukichi did not want to ruin the loving marriage between Kazuko and Ezechiel, and so sought to at least bury her feelings deep in her heart.

But at that moment, she simply could not hold back her feelings, and buried her face into Ezechiel's shoulder as she cried softly.

"I... I..."

"Shh... it's okay," Said Kazuko, patting her shoulder.

"So let me get this straight," You said, "You're married to a teacher, and now you're sharing with another woman - a widow with five children?"

"That's the gist of it," Ezechiel said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

"...God help us all," You said.

Ezechiel droped by the Arashiro house for a visit, having concluded classes with his mother-in-law Urumi caring for Tutyahu while Kazuko had to handle some last-minute work at Morimoto High.

"Does your mother-in-law know about this? Or your parents for that matter?" You asked.

"My mother-in-law does know, but I haven't told my parents... yet," Said Ezechiel.

Abirit, on the other hand, merely looked at Ezechiel as if he grew a flower out of his head. Then, shaking her head, she went to the kitchen to brew a cup of tea.

"...Pervert."

And Ezechiel winced terribly.

"...Well, honestly, I was thinking the same thing," You said.

"Seriously?" Asked Ezechiel.
