Mable eventually came back, nodding to herself.
"No matter how you slice it, Canari doesn't stand much of a chance against Nemona. However, she doesn't need to win" Mable said.
Canari looked at her in confusion.
"Uh. Whaddya mean by that?"
"Unlike some of the other trainers, Nemona is very forthright. When you last battled her, what happened when you lost?" Mable asked
"She said it was a great match, then... Well, then I started swearing and stormed off" Canari answered.
"And that would be why you are not understanding. Nemona likely would have tried to be nice to you. Tried to give you tips, maybe even invite you somewhere once the battle portion of the night was over. Thankfully your little tantrum may have made her even more dedicated to befriending you if you run into her again. Meaning..."
"Meaning Canari loses, then lures Nemona somewhere where I can entrance her." Malamar said.
"Exactly. There is a bath house in the area with separate bathing areas for humans and Pokemon. Invite her there. She'll let her Pokemon enjoy themselves, leaving her open for manipulation by Master, who will sneak into the human side somehow" Mable stated.
