Chapter 5
by Veiled
You make a decision
She’ll go by herself
You had no intention of encouraging Jill in her idea of reconnecting with her ex. Agreeing to host him here or going over there to meet him would really just be giving her your tacit approval that you were cool with it. Which you weren’t. You steeled yourself for a moment and then you answered her. “Fine, go by yourself then.” You said, your voice both frustrated and resigned. Her eyes widened, and you felt a moment of satisfaction at having caught her off balance. Her surprised expression, however, soon settled into one that was more cold and neutral once again. “Alright. I will. That’s settled, then.” She said, turning back to the food. “Go sit down at the table, the food is pretty much done.” She told you, her tone icy. You knew she was mad at you. “Okay. I’ll help get out the plates and stuff.” You told her, but she shook her head. “Just go sit down.” She said, even pointing towards the table. “I’ve got it.” She insisted. You decided to let it pass and went and sat down at the table. She brought out the food and everything, setting your half in front of you. “Thanks for cooking.” You told her. “Mm hmm.” She replied. The two of you didn’t speak much that meal.
The weekend arrived. You had made plans to go out drinking with some friends while Jill would go over James’ place. You still hated the idea of that, but you felt that you’d made your feelings on things fairly clear. When the time arrived for Jill to head out, she came down from the bedroom having changed out of her work clothes. You were shocked by what she’d chosen to wear. She’d chosen a low-cut white tank top which put her big and perky breasts on full display, showing much deeper cleavage than she usually did. Underneath this you could just barely make out the color of a deep red bra which was only narrowly concealed by the low cut white top. Beneath that she had on some tight jean shorts which hugged her hips and ass perfectly. She’d clearly spent time making her long blonde hair look gorgeous, and she’d also put on some bright red lipstick which was impossible to miss.
You were speechless for a moment as your eyes ran down her figure. Jill watched as you looked her over and her lips curled into a small smirk. “Alright, I’m heading out.” She told you. A thousand protests about her outfit rose up at the tip of your tongue, and you opened your mouth to say them when you saw this smug and expectant look in her eyes. You suddenly realized that type of outburst was just what she wanted. She was trying to get a reaction out of you. She wanted you to throw a jealous tantrum. You couldn’t let her win. You turned away from her, back towards the television. “Okay, have fun.” You told her simply, using all your willpower to mute the protests you’d almost spoken. You couldn’t see her face, but in your peripheral vision you could tell that she just stood there for a moment, silent and still. Then she walked quickly towards the door. “Don’t worry, I will.” She told you as she slammed the door closed behind her.
