Talking with Delia
Setting the trap
Dialing the number in, Carol held the device up to her ear.
One ring.
Two rings.
Three rings.
"Ash?" Delia greeted, Caroline trying her best not to chuckle. While not wanting to give things away to the mother, she was betting on her falling on in.
"I've been doing quite great in Caroline's care." Carol explained, licking her lips. "Though, I was thinking you could come and visit us. Maybe for a couple days?"
A murmur, with Delia probably looking away. On one hand, maybe this would be a good chance to see how her 'son' is doing for the moment. But something seemed off. There was something different to Ash's voice. He sounded like Caroline of all people.
