She wasn’t going to ditch Ashton at the end of their dinner! This situation was ridiculous, she sent a quick text back saying her date was fine, and not to message her again. She then hovered her finger briefly over the block button… But hesitated, remembering the photo she had just seen. She put her phone on silent instead, before putting her phone away and smiling apologetically at him.
“So sorry! My boss sending me messages at the worst possible time!” She said, fumbling with her purse.
“I know the feeling,” he replied. “I am on call most of the time, so I have to pretty much let them know that I am busy during our dates AND put the phone on silent so they get the hint.” He sighed, before adding. “Work and life separation is still something I’m working on right now.”
“Well, no more interruptions for the night,” she said. He smiled back at her.
“Here’s to that!” And he raised his glass in a toast. She did the same and they clinked their glasses together before taking a sip of their now almost empty drinks.
