Chapter 1741 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Say goodbye to the adventurers.

It's crowded in the hall. Over a dozen people are **** to fit. Though given they've been locked in prison cells for days or even weeks, this is probably still preferable. Each one personally thanks you with varying levels of politeness, though all genuine. Some worry for your safety ahead, though most seem to be convinced of your skill. One by one, they make their way back through the door that leads into the chamber where you fought the invisible soldier. You hope that together they can find their way out without triggering any traps you might have missed, but with a party of that size, they have weapons, magic, and healing at their disposal.

The front doors are likely still sealed of course, but they can wait safely there while you clear the rest of the dungeon.

"Ew. I'm still all sticky," Eva says. Then she pauses for a moment. Her eyes open wide. She pats herself down before slipping her hands between her thighs. "I f-forgot to pick up my--!"

"... Sure. Forgot," you tease.

"I actually did! Don't make fun of me. I feel so gross right now after being grabbed by that slimy witch."

"Not the word I'd have called her, but pretty close," says Niki.

Regine is one of the last ones you see. She holds up a dagger, and dances it between her fingers before slipping it into her belt. "Got our stuff back before I left, and after everything, I feel kinda bad that nobody offered to give you anything as thanks. So I'd like to give you something I think is pretty valuable. But if we meet again, you better remember me as your ally."

Eva giggles. "What if we remember you as the wet doggy?"

As strange as it sounds, the waterskin held in Regine's hand could actually be described as beautiful. That isn't often the case. It looks almost more like a decanter, though still of leather. It's decorated with silver lining, and the cap may be solid gold. You can't tell. Either way, it's a stunning item. She holds it up towards Eva, pops it open, and simply says the word, "Fountain".

Suddenly several gallons of water sprays out like a hose right into Eva's face.

"Bblblblblbbllllbbl!" Eva falls back. The stream continues, soaking her entire body from head to toe. The more she fails around, the more drenched she becomes, until her entire wardrobe is waterlogged and clinging to her skin.

Then after a few more seconds, it stops. Regine puts the cap back on and says, "There. Now you're all cleaned up." She then hands it for you to take. "Call it the Decanter of Endless Water. When it's opened, you can either say Stream, Fountain, or Geyser. Careful with the last one. You can only use it so much in a day, but it does refill itself. Incredibly valuable item for long journeys. I admit, it might run out eventually. I don't know if it's actually endless. But it hasn't dried up yet."

"Are you sure? This is a pretty incredible thing to have," you reply.

"I am. Go on, before I regret it."

You accept the gift graciously, and she departs along with the others.

Eva spits the water out. It's clean and refreshing, but she went from covered in slime to soaking wet rather quickly and without warning. Not only are her clothes now heavy on her body, but she still has no underwear beneath, and every time she remembers, her face burns hotter.

Before she can speak, you walk up to her and hand the Decanter of Endless Water over.

"W-Wait. For me?" she asks. Hesitantly, she takes it.

"You're our mage after all. I feel like magic trinkets like these fit you best."

Niki nods. "Plus, you and Xiaoqing are the only ones here who don't have a magic item. Though I guess Xiaoqing kinda is a magic item."

"... That's not quite right," Xiaoqing replies.

"And I have my wand!" Eva corrects her.

"Yeah but like, does that do anything?" Niki asks.

With her other hand, Eva squeezes the wand firmly and affectionately against her chest. "Yes. It enhances my spells. Also Kyle got it for me."

"I appreciate the assist, Niki, but your logic is questionable. Snow's bow doesn't do anything specific either," you say.

Niki taps her forehead. "Duh. Magic arrows? Now who's stupid?"

Eva holds the Decanter up and says, "Fountain". Water rushes out from within, spraying Niki in the face.

"Blblblblblbllblblllbl--Stop!" Niki flails her hands up in front of her.

This time when the voice rings out from around you, it sounds more assertive and firm. Angry or afraid, you're not sure, but it's likely both. "You somehow manage to escape the dungeon's prison chambers without a single casualty. Now only one door awaits ahead. You can't help but fear what final boss is waiting for you. It's likely she's gorgeous and amazing, and you may stand no chance at all."

"Only one way to find out," you say.
