Run away before it is too late

As he waved me over, I was frozen in place. Something primal, deep in my brain took over, and I found myself running to get out of the room as soon as possible. I felt as if I had been confronted with a predator, and I had barely gotten away with my life. My heart beating like crazy, I ran downstairs and started searching for Jamie. I found him parked on the same couch as last time. He smiled as I approached, but soon realized something was wrong as he saw my expression.

"Something wrong babe?" he said, his voice worried. I just shook my head at him.

"I changed my mind. I want to leave," I told him, trying to calm my breathing. For a second it looked like he was going to ask for an explanation, but he though better of it. Instead he simply nodded and got up, escorting me out. As we exited the house Jamie kept his eyes on me, filled with concern.
