Run!

The fear welled up inside her and before she even had time to think she started to run. Dashing up one flight of stairs and then another, before finally stopping. She froze in one corner of the stairwell, looking at the stairs heading both up and down. Pressed against the wall as she was she could feel the cold concreate hard against her bare arse and the small of her back.

The feeling of the concreate was enough to remind her of her situation. She was half naked in public. Why had she run? Why hadn't she tried to retrieve her skirt, it might have been possible to fix it. She might have actually been left with some cover.

She was almost tempted to turn back and try to retrieve her skirt when the worst happened. She heard the sound of an opening door. With the echoing around the stairwell she had no way of knowing if the sound came from above or below. At any moment someone might be heading in her direction. She looked around, panic setting in once more. Should she head up? Down? Which way was safety? The door onto the second floor of the carpark was right beside her, it would offer more places to hide, but also the risk of more people around.
