Rocs
"Rocs"
Rocs are gigantic avian manomo, where the largest ever recorded was about 4 meters in height and the smallest being around 3 meters in size.
They aren't as big as a behemoth, but can do a lot of damage when they dive at an incredible height and speed (almost breaking the speed of sound), specially with their razor sharp talons on their legs.
Rocs are more related to the birds of prey than with other species of birds, with sharp and big talons and a taste for raw meat. They are also skinny, but very muscular, also possesing powerful claws on the end of their wings.
Rocs aren't capable of showing emotions and are usually silent, leaving them with a serious face all the time. But, although they aren't capable of expressing themselves, their bodies can give hints of what they’re feeling at the moment.
They tend to make their nests in the highest points of their territories, and when another Roc enters that territory, the two began to fight in the sky, each one trying to make the other fall to the ground.
This battle also happens when they both find a mate they both like, and once the winner is declared, the victourious one can either cast out the loser from the her territory or they she can share the man with the other. When it comes to that, the winner becomes the alpha-wife and gets to mate first, while the loser becomes the beta-wife, mating after the alpha, when the man is already exausted.
Once a Roc finds a man suitable for her, they grab him, taking him to the sky and deposit him in their nest. After that, the husband has no other choice other than to stay with the Roc, since the option of escaping also involves a great fall to their deaths.
Rocs are much smarter than an average harpy, and can maneuver with execelent precision between obstacles while flying and divebombing.
When a Roc becomes pregnant, she is also **** to stay on the nest, since the additional weight disruptes their flight. Thankfully, they make a stash of food on their nests before stopping to hunt. When they lay their eggs, they leave to their husbands to feed and educate the chicks while the mother hunts for more food.
