Ring Finger
Sasha woke up in hospital. Multiple knife wounds. Superficial. Her hand was another story. They had to amputate her left ring finger. The traditional finger to wear a wedding ring. She failed in marriage once… Maybe losing that finger was meant to be. Her hand in thick bandages.
Her cheek had a gash in it from where Mila had surprised her. A cut from her pink jagged blade. Sasha’s beauty took a hit. Losing power. An escort that was nothing if not for outer perfection. Another bandage.
Sasha woke up and groaned. She noticed someone standing by her bed.
“Jackson…” she mumbled.
“I’m afraid to disappoint you… it’s Officer Miriam Blake…” the blonde haired woman said. She had piercing green eyes. She wore her black police uniform.
“You were lucky that a traffic cop noticed you in the gutter… Then we identified you… Sasha… You were attacked by someone and left for dead…” she said.
Sasha groaned and tried to sit up. The pain in her back.
“Oww—“ she said.
“Easy there… No need to move…” Miriam said, “We are going to catch the perp who did this to you… Don’t you worry…”
“Volkov…” Sasha said, before passing out again.
Miriam tensed. This was serious. If the Volkov were involved — then Sasha may not be clean either. The police were very much intertwined with mafia activity. Miriam didn’t like it. But there were dirty cops everywhere.
“Don’t you worry… I’ll get them…” Miriam said.
