“Hello.”
Revelations
“Who are you? How did you get in here?” John questioned as he jumped out of the chair and took a feeble defensive stance. He quickly cast Observe on the statuesque woman.
Observe resisted, some data missing

‘Resisted! What? How?’ John was shocked by her character sheet, there was a lot of information missing. Once he saw the relationship tab, he began to demean himself. ‘A -23 Relationship Score, great, I somehow pissed off this random woman in a matter of seconds, I’m glad to see that my luck with females hasn’t changed with the addition of magic.’
“Don’t you know it’s impolite to use scrying magic on somebody you just met, it makes you seem paranoid,” the woman scolded with a light chuckle. “Are your communication skills so low that you don’t know any better or are you simply stupid?” Her question was emphasized by the domineering air of authority she gave off.
“Sorry, I’m really on edge right now. My friend is missing, I just barely survived a fight with some deadly fucking rabbits and wasn’t expecting anybody to be in the barrier after I just finished checking the house.” John was looking downward as he quickly blurted out his apology.
She lightly chuckled at his sincere apology. “It’s no problem, kid. Name's is Jasmine Sharpe. I’m a reporter that works for the Springfield Beacon. I’m looking into a series of disappearances that have similar victims and crime scenes. Is it safe to assume that you are John Newman, the young man who called 911?”
He nodded as he answered, ”Yes, I am.” How did she know that?
“You are a weird one. When I heard the emergency services recording, I figured you were mundane. I wasn’t expecting you to be a novice mage.” John admired her plump clad ass as the reporter bent over to pull out the other chair in the room before sitting in it. “Can you explain this entire situation to me, kid?” Jasmine asked as she finished lighting a cigarette that she pulled out of thin air. “Anything you tell me might be able to help me look into what happened to your friend.”
He naively dropped his guard once Jasmine said she might be able to help find Meadow. “Yes, I can, no problem,” John responded before he started to recount the events of his morning. “When I woke up today, there was a floating frame in front of me that looked like a video game quest window. I was confused, just yesterday I was a normal kid who turned 18.”
“Hold up, hold up,” she interrupted him, “are you telling me your mana manifested this morning?”
John paused to consider how to answer her question. “Yes, if that is what it means to wake up with the abilities I have now. When I went to sleep last night, I was John the nerd. This morning, I was,” he breathed in deeply, ”The Gamer.” He made air quotes when he said his title. “You just called me a novice mage. I figured you knew that I knew somehow.”
“No, I had no clue.” The reporter said as she was shaking her head with a shocked expression. “You know how to use a scrying spell and were able to survive a fight with those nuisances. When I called you a novice mage, I figured you were somebody’s sheltered apprentice with low social skills, never would I have expected you to be a rare Late Bloomer who just awakened to the Abyss.” Jasmine put her hand on his leg. "Gamer, tell me everything you know about your abilities. I will definitely make it worth your while,” she said seductively as she inched her hand up his thigh toward his growing erection.
“Um, uh, you know,” John stammered before he pushed his chair away from hers; his face had a deep blush on it. ”You’re very attractive and I’m flattered, but I’m really worried about Meadow.” He continued with a bright smile, “Finding her safe and sound is all that matters to me. If you could help find her like you said, then that’s all I can ask of you.”
Jasmine’s face showed a hurt expression. “I get it, you hold a candle for this friend of yours.” She pouted. “I’ll make you a proposition, John, I will try to help you find your friend, as well as help you with the growth of your powers. If you give me exclusive rights to your first interview in six months and agree to give me assistance within your capacity during cases I have in the future. This could mean information gathering or simply being my muscle.”
“No, it’s not like that between us,” John stated while averting eye contact, then shifted the conversation to respond to her proposal. Six months sounded awfully short, in the grand scheme of things, did Late Bloomers really develop that fast? ”How can I trust that you’ll keep your word and not take advantage of me?” the Gamer asked nervously.
The reporter laughed as she pulled an odd-looking sheet of paper out of thin air, just like the cigarette she was smoking. “This here is an Abyssal Contract; these are enforced by the supreme will of the world. I don’t know how they are created, I just know that no being on this planet can break one of these agreements except for her.” John’s doubt of the paper was obvious to her. “Go ahead, use your scrying spell on it if you don’t believe me,” she said as she passed the contract to him. The Gamer used Observe on the paper as she suggested.
Observe Lvl 4
Observe will allow you to see the target’s sexual history and stats.

“Do you believe the validity of the contract?”
“Yes, Jasmine, I believe that this contract will enforce whatever terms we agree on,” John responded with a hint of annoyance in his voice. “I don’t mind most of your deal, but you need to add that we can’t harm one another intentionally. One more thing before I sign anything, you need to remove whatever spell is interrupting my scrying spell. This will help me trust you a bit more.”
“That’s fine with me. If you tell a soul anything about my personal information, I will castrate you,” she threatened with a playful smile. Her body gained a purple hue that dissipated just as quickly as it appeared. “All set for your spell.”

‘Wow, it really worked this time.’ He looked over her sheet with excitement. ‘Level 17, she could most likely **** me to do whatever she wanted. My relationship score went up with her’ John’s face turned a deep crimson as he read on. ‘I thought she was only teasing me. If I play my cards right, I might be able to lose my virginity. I’ll worry about sex at another time, right now Meadow is most important. Nothing in her character sheet makes me feel like she is lying. I guess I’ll give it a shot.’
“Thanks, for putting up with my request. The deal was just a little too good to be true, so I needed as much information about you as possible,” John said as he passed the blank contract back to the reporter.
“I get it, John, just give me a moment to make the agreement.” When Jasmine was finished writing and signing the contract, she passed it back to John.
He read it a few times to make sure there were no loopholes. On his third time he pointed to a spot on the page. ”I don’t mind helping you in the future, but this has no end date. Can we agree that I promise to help you for an additional six months after the interview, so a year total?” She casually wrote in an addendum at the bottom of the agreement. Once she stopped writing, the contract altered itself in the area he pointed out to reflect his request. He gave it another two readings before he added his signature.
The contract split into two identical copies before they flew into their hands, one for each of them.
