Revelations

They talked for a while, but it was obvious that they felt kind of uncomfortable due to the weird tension between them and soon after Leia left. Luke was now left alone with his thoughts and he had many things to think about.

Luke was pretty sure now that both of them knew what they wanted from each other. He always had a desire for Leia and it didn't change when he found out she was his sister. It was always one of Luke's secret fantasies. And up until recently it was just that - a fantasy. He never thought it possible that they could come true, but now he has the power in his hands to make them come true and it seems like they already did. Everything told him that he shouldn't give into his desires, not only because he was a member of the Jedi Order, his common sense also told him not to. Leia was his sister, the relationship he wanted was unnatural in itself, it could potentially ruin a lot of lives, not only Luke's and Leia's, but it also endangered the entire fate of the Jedi and therefore the entire galaxy. The decision seemed obvious, anything else than stopping whatever was happening between them was stupid. But Luke couldn't do it, he didn't have the strength. Just looking at his sister would be ****, knowing what they could have had, constantly questioning himself if he made the right decision, living a live full of sorrow. But he also now possesed a power greater and stranger than everything he knew, maybe that would do the trick? Luke felt an headache coming his way and he decided to not worry about any longer. The **** had a plan for both of them anyways.
Thinking of the **** - what will he do now that he found the four female Jedi? They will definetely help him restore the new Jedi Order and train younglings. Of course they would have to get used to the new reality they find themselves in, after all over 20 years have passed. But maybe they also could serve the reason Luke originally thought out for them, not as breeding stocks for the empire, but the Jedi. He knew that the old Jedi had a strict rule against any forms of relationships and attachments, but with so few Jedi left, Luke thought he maybe could convince them and they'd understand that it was necessary for the greater good.

At that moment his door swung open and someone entered his room. It was Mara.
"We're about to land, so I'd suggest you stop lazing around. Those Jeid girls won't offload themselves"
"Yeah you're right. Thanks for telling me."
"Don't thank me, thank your sister. She told me to do it. Though I don't know why she couldn't tell you herself"
Luke had a good idea why she didn't want to talk to him in person right now, but he didn't want to think about it any longer: "So, what are you going to do now?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I assume you don't want to kill me anymore, so now you are free to do anything you like."
"Hm. Good question. To be honest I didn't think about that until now. I don't know. Maybe I'll even try this whole Jedi-thing, though it looks kinda lame."
"You're always welcome to visit the temple, that is if you don't plan to kill me", Luke joked.
"No. I dont think I will. At least not in the near future."
With those words Luke left his bed and they both went to the hangar, where Leia was already wating for them.
"Mon Mothma expects us.", she simply said, avoiding eye contact with Luke.
"The chancellor? What's got the Republic to do with this? This is a Jedi Matter.", Luke complained
"If it involves the Empire, it also conerns the Republic.", she answered.
"Whatever.", Luke muttered

Leia opened the hangar door and a bright flash of sunlight made Luke squint. He could see Mon Mothma accompanied by to guards standing on the outside.
"It is good to see you well and alive", she greeted them, then her eyes turned toward Mara, "And I suppose you brought company with you."
"It's the assassin I told you about on the com earlier", Leia told her.
"Then I'd suggest we arrest her." Immediately the guards stepped forward, but Luke threw himself protectively between them and Mara.
"No. She has proven herself to be a trustworthy ally. She is a guest of mine, I want you to bring her to my apartment."
The guards looked at Mon Mothma and after she nodded in approval one of them went with Mara to show her the way and as he was walking past, Luke whispered: "But keep an eye on her. Just to be safe."
Then Luke turned towards the other, that was already helping to unload the carbonites.
"I need them to arrive safe at the Jedi temple, so be careful. I will bring them there myself."
"That can wait.", said Mon Mothma.
"What does that mean?", Luke asked.
"I need you to report to me what happend on Nur."
"Leia knows just as much as me, she can do it."
"I need you both! It is a matter of utmost urgency."
Luke sighed, he knew there was no point in arguing with a politician, so he just told the guard to watch the carbonites until he comes back and then followed the chancellor.
When they arrived at Mon Mothma's office, she closed the doors and made sure no one was nearby.
"What's up with all this secrecy?", Leia asked.
"Is it because of Mara Jade?", Luke asked.
"Mara Jade?"
"The assassin.", Leia answered.
"No... No that can wait.", only now Luke noticed how tired Mon Mothma looked, "Tell me, what do you know of your mother?"
"Why do you ask?", Luke wanted to know, but Leia already answered Mon Mothma's question.
"She was the Senator of Naboo and died after giving birth to us. That's the short version."
"Exactly. That's what we thought too."
"What you thought?", Luke was highly sceptical of all this.
"Shortly after your departure we received an encrypted message from the Lwhekk-System. The signal was very weak, but I have good reason to assume that it came from Padmé Amidala."
"The Lwhekk-System? I was there during the Ssi-ruuvi Invasions. Do you remember? I didn't notice any hint that our mother could possible be there. This is impossible", Luke explained.
Mon Mothma seems to remember, as she takes some time to answer:
"She would have many reasons to be in hiding. There is simply to much we don't know yet, but I wouldn't tell you if I wasn't convinced of it myslef:
Your mother is alive."
