Reunions and Claims

Laurel's POV

You looked outside the one-way window that led to the street, watching your ex-girlfriend approach the building with a wary look at the Stryker as she checked with her gaze for dangers. The fit woman was wearing the sky-blue sports bra and black dry-fit shorts that she had looted from a clothing store the day before. Which was just as well since it allowed her to move faster in a more comfortable way when needed and speed was certainly of the essence when needing to get away from the undead.

As quietly as you could manage, you opened the door and waved. She noticed you as she turned her head around, her eyes widened as she started smiling.

You let her inside as she approached but before you could start explaining, she puts her arms around you, pressing her barely clothed chest against you while sighing in relief.

"I thought I lost you for a moment there..." She confessed, her voice breaking. "Please, don't do that to me again."

You inhaled her familiar, sweaty scent as you hugged her tightly and closed your eyed. "I will try. And for what it's worth, I feared I had lost you for a moment there too."

You and your ex continued comforting each other in a warm embrace for a bit longer but soon she broke away.

"How did you find that drone?" She asked, her tone curious. "Is there anything else that we could use that you found in this warehouse? And you said you had found allies that would be interested in taking down Carlos and rescue your sister from that sick fucker. What did you mean by that and are they the ones that parked that military vehicle outside?"

You chuckled slightly. "Well, in order of importance," She said, a bit amused at her rapid barrage, "I was not actually the one using that drone, but I helped our new "allies" use it to find you so that we could communicate by radio and find each other. Yes, there is quite a bit of useful things and supplies in here such as those emergency meals that you can find in the bucket," You added, nodding towards the direction of the stored, dry food that Sergeant Mills had brought to this floor.

Kira's eyes widened further as she looked at the meals a look of hunger on her face as she looked at it. "Very handy. And if your new allies are offering some of these food to us, they are my new favorite people because man, I am starving."

"Heh, this is just a sample," You said with a grin. "They have way more in the building. But that leads me to your other questions: yes they own the Stryker outside and yes, that means some of them are skilled soldiers. Thankfully, they have agreed to take us into their group and yes, they have agreed to help us rescue Sofia."

"Well, that is amazing to hear," Your ex-girlfriend said with a sudden frown. "But why would they want to help us so much?"

You paused for a moment, gathering your thoughts before answering. "Well, for one, because their boss seems nice to me. But more importantly, when I asked him that very question, he said that he had sworn an oath to me in return for my pledge of loyalty. And that this meant he needed to try to do his best to help me now due to his, and I am quoting him here "half of the social contract that now exists between us."

"Wait what?" She asked, blinking rapidly. "You swore your loyalty to him?"

You nodded, smiling as you did so. "And if he and his team pull this rescue mission off, totally worth it," You said, your tone as honest as your feelings. "And that's not counting all the other perks of joining his group."

"Of all the...what kind of per..."

"Don't worry, it will all make sense soon," You said, cutting her off. "But first, can you look down to the floor, please?"

She raised an eyebrow before doing just that, blinking even more rapidly as she looked at the words written bellow that said "Michael's Building".

"So...I am going to guess that this Michael is the leader you are talking about since he owns this building," Kira finally said as she looked up. "Good to know I guess but what about it?"

"Well, you see," You explained softly. "Since this is his building, he makes the rules. There are a few but these are the most important ones that he wanted me to show you first when you got here."

Pointing to the white wall to their left there was a sign that said, "Michael's Rules."

She seemed to frown in confusion for a moment but soon, she shrugged. "I guess the second rule is reasonable since he is our host. The first one sounds plain weird, though."

"There is a reason for it, I assure you," You said, remembering that your Master had told you before that he in fact owns Kira and many other people but that, like it happened in your own case, not all of them had realized it.

So, he had assured you that writing his name on his unknowing pieces of property helped them remember. Which is why you were here now, helping your owner illuminate his claim on your beloved ex's skin. And you had to admit a part of you was thrilled as, the sooner Kira realized she belonged to the Master, the sooner she will realize that she did not "technically" cheat on her with Garcia and Mills, and not just because of their pretend break-up: it's not cheating when it has their Master's seal of sexual approval, after all.

As if on cue, however, you soon heard steps walking down the stair and you saw your Master escorted by Amelia and Garcia. That was when you remembered that you had overheard your owner tell the good lieutenant to take one of the jerry cans to an abandoned pick-up truck in the street so that they could get it up and running and be able to store more things on the way back to their compound.

"So, you are Kira Preto," He said as he approached a smile on his face.

"And you are Michael, this building's owner, I take it?" She asked, her tone sounding increasingly wary.

He chuckled at that. "Among other things. I am glad that you were able to reunite with Laurel."

"Well, thanks for the help I guess," She said in a resigned tone. "I don't understand why you want to write something on me, though."

"You will understand soon," He responded. "It won't take long."

"Argh, fine, let's get this over with," Your ex said as she extended her exposed arm, uncovered by the lack of sleeves in her sport's bra.

"As you wish," He said as he got his marker out and started writing.

You looked quickly once he was done and just like that, you smiled widely, understanding with perfect clarity that Kira was indeed your sister-in-ownership.

And as her jaw dropped in shock when she looked down, you could not wait for this next chapter of their life together...

How does Kira reacts?
