Chapter 5

What do you choose to do?
Rest as you’re supposed to
{if GameMode == true}
As you shuffle your feet in an attempt to follow Parisia's trail of footsteps left imprinted on the sandy floor, you reconsider for a moment. Maybe it's best that you do rest, like you're supposed to.
The three of you sit back down, but the way that Neela and Roman sit doesn't go unnoticed by you. They are quite close to each other and Neela has her right leg rested on Roman's lap. A pang of jealousy hits you which is beyond your control considering you had a massive crush on her for a while but you're over it and you're happy for your best friend anyway, even if there is no clear evidence that something is even going on.
The three of you are all talking and laughing normally, as if you were having a completely normal day.
“So they all start yelling at me and telling me to give up my wallet and phone,” says Roman.
“Then what happened?” Asks Neela, listening intently to a recollection of thoughts.
“I refused and so one of them tried to punch me but I ducked out of the way and took him out instead.” Says Roman, as he finishes telling a story that only you know he completely glorified himself in.
“No fucking way did you do that,” says Neela in disbelief.
“Ask Julian,” says Roman, looking at you and with his eyes, practically begging you to support his glorified version of the story. From what you can recall, he did actually lose his phone and wallet, as well as gaining a black eye.
You take a moment to look back at him, but in the end you just smile and nod.
“Yeah it's true, he really did avoid getting mugged.” You reply.
Roman's face is flushed with a look of relief and you notice Neela lean in closer to him, eyes glazed over with awe. Roman mouths out a thanks to you then continues to talk to Neela.
Just when you're starting to feel fed up of feeling like a third wheel, Parisia comes back holding a much less bloodstained t-shirt that appears to be soaked in, what you assume to be, salty seawater. She throws you the cloth and you manage to catch it.
“This isn't even dry yet I can't put it on my head,” you say.
“No shit, I just washed it.” Says Parisia as she thinks, “Maybe we should just wait for Amber to get back before you put it back on.”
As soon as the other two notice Parisia, they hastily untangle themselves from each other and Parisia gives you a sideways glance, which you return with a shrug.
Parisia sits down beside you, joining the three of you sat around the small fire that's slowly going out.
“We should probably get some more of that wood,” you suggest.
“You asked where Amber was,” starts Parisia, “she and the rest of them have gone looking for wood, water and food.”
The four of you continue to talk, while you think about the rest of the people on the island. You don't even know who they are yet, or if you'll even recognise them. You decide not to ask who they are, purely for your own entertainment.
