Chapter 12 by vic_elor vic_elor

What should raven do?

Read the book

I may as well relax, seeing how Ssakcik will likely do whatever he wishes to do regardless of my actions. I picked up the book from the table and leaned my head against the tub.

The book was old, very old and it appeared to be written cuneiform, the ancient Samarian language. It didn’t take long before I recognized the story contained in the pages as ‘the epic of Gilgamesh’, although this particular copy seemed to be much older then any I had ever read.

I made it through Gilgamesh’s battle with Humbaba before my eyes began to grow heavy. It had been a very long and unpleasant day, and my body was telling me I had pushed myself far enough.

I placed the book back on the table and rubbed my eyes, but when my eyes had cleared the rooms contents had changed. The bathtub and table were still present, but now the contents of the table had changed and a solid wood door existed in the white endlessness. All of my bath supplies were gone, replaced by a white bathrobe. White is normally not my color, but I couldn’t stay in the water any longer for fear of falling asleep and I had no intention of wandering around naked if I didn’t have too. I stepped out of the tub, leaving beads of hot water to drip down my naked body until they eventually feel off into the void. I didn’t see any towels so I simply covered my wet body with the robe.

This had to be one of Ssakcik’s tricks, nothing could be this soft and comfortable. Feeling the now damp cloth grip onto my skin, I couldn’t help but feel the same unfamiliar feeling that had swept over me when I was brought to this strange void.

I can’t name this feeling, not for sure at least, but I do know I want to feel more of it.

What happens to Raven? What should she do?
