*The lives of slaves vary greatly depending on their assigned caste:*
1. **Laborers:** Most slaves are assigned to work in the mines and factories, excavating the valuable resources needed to fuel the Appoplexian war machine. The work is backbreaking and the hours are long, but laborers are at least allowed a modicum of freedom within the **** quarters and have a chance to earn their way to the next caste. The most productive and loyal are sometimes rewarded with a place in the Pleasure caste.
