Ra’s enters the Pit.

Ra’s Al Ghul ordered his loyal followers to prepare for the Lazarus Pit. They knew that there was no point in arguing with him about the unknown side effects. He knew the risks and he was going to take them. He drank ceremonial wine, laid onto the lowering mechanism, and chained to it, so that when he returned his temporary insanity wouldn’t get anyone killed. Quickly enough, he entered the Pit, and its process began.

Instantaneously, the pain consumed him. It was like if he had been lit on fire, but it wasn’t skin deep. It was burning through his skin, his muscles, his bones, down to his nerves. Ra’s Al Ghul had never experienced a pain like this before, not even from previous Lazarus Pits. This was something new. He struggled against the chains for what felt like hours, even though it had only been ten minutes. Soon he felt completely numb, and was raised up to the surface.
