Quest Designer, and Pick a Second Target After Work

I decide to buy Quest Designer II right now, and then maybe look into Class Designer after I get another perk point.

First Purchase! (5xp): Spend a Perk Point for the first time

Well that didn't take long. I think I'll save it for after work though. I have some errands to run, including a run to the laundromat. I set an easy two step Quest for Ben.

Step 1: 'Call a friend'

Step 2: 'Make plans to meet up with them' (6xp)

Reward: Hangover protection (single use)

Multistage (5xp): Assign a Target a Quest with multiple steps

Damn that's a pretty good reward. I wonder if I can get things like that? Ah there's a perk for that. Reward Share gets me a lesser version of non-perk rewards received by my Targets for 2 perk points. I'm not going to buy it now, but it looks to be the first in a tree of similar perks about sharing with my Targets.

Also, now that I'm level 4 it'll take me 15xp to level up again. I assume that the xp requirements will keep going up as I level.

That Quest won't be finished until after work, so I put my phone away and get back to work.

I drop my laundry basket on the tile floor of the laundromat. There aren't many empty machines, but I find an open one. The door chimes as I'm loading my clothes in. I wave hello as the tired-looking blonde woman walks past, then return to starting the wash cycle.

She looked familiar, like really familiar. It takes me a minute (and checking the QuestMaster Target list) to place her. Luckily saying "hi" had shot her to the top of the list.

Y'know what? I think someone I'm not as close to would make a good Target for testing things.

Huh, that's lower xp than the Quests I've given Ben. Maybe it's easier for her? The rumbling of machinery disguises the ping of a cell phone.

"Hey, you work at the hardware store nearby, right?"

I snap out of my thoughts to see Lucille standing in front of me with a friendly smile. "Oh, yeah! I do. You... I mixed some paint for you yesterday. Pale blue, for a renovation, right?"

Her smile widens. "Yes! Oh the color is absolutely perfect! I spent all day painting the store with my partner. Absolutely exhausting work, but it's worth it. I'm Lucille, by the way."

"Drew, it's a pleasure. You're working on a store, then? I thought I remembered something about a cafe when we talked yesterday." I say, looking to keep the conversation going.

She laughs a little, "Oh no, I don't know if I could handle food service again. Even if I was the boss. No, I'm opening a little boutique! I've got a little storefront not far from here, on next to the Moonbean Cafe. It's going to be dangerous for my coffee addiction I can already tell."

"I bet! I'll be sure to swing by when it's open." I laugh as well. Then I find myself speaking again. "Hey, why don't we exchange numbers? I'd love to keep up with your project. And I'll let the guys at work know to give you a discount, since you're a friend."

I blink in confusion after adding Lucille's contact info to my phone. That... was weird. Was that the reward for her Quest? Establishing a friendship?

My phone has notifications for both Ben and Lucille completing their Quests. I'll give each of them a new Quest and get back to my errands.

For Lucille I give a simple Quest. Something that she'd be likely to do with minimal prodding.

'Set up social media pages for your business' (4xp)

Reward: 50 followers

For Ben I'm willing to push it a bit. He had once asked me on a date, and I am pretty sure he still has a crush on me.

'Masturbate while thinking of Drew' (8xp)

Advanced Quest: This Quest has either a higher than usual probability of failing or a projected completion time greater than 24 hours.

I accept, noting that Advanced Quests give higher xp.

Reward: One pair of Drew's panties

Ah. Maybe having some control over the rewards would be nice... not much that can be done now that the Quest is out there.

Up the Ante (5xp): Give a Target an advanced Quest

I close the app and gather up my clean laundry. I still have to grab some groceries and find a present for Ollie's upcoming birthday before heading home for the night.
