Proceed to day 5

Day 5.

The morning went as usual, with everyone busy with their own agendas. I was the only one that noticed mom acted a bit differently today. She was humming to radio music, preparing breakfast for everyone with extra effort put into it. And sandwiches were already prepared. I knew she was visiting her dentist, she had an awful lot of problems with teeth apparently, but who would act so happy about it? I decided to find out.

• "Hey mom?"
• "Yes Lucy, is everything tasty?"
• "Umm yes, I was just wondering if you have any interesting plans for today."
• "Oh, you know, the usual, I need to do some groceries, clean the house, go to the dentist, call your aunt. Nothing special."
• "And how are your dentist visits going on? Everything all right?"
• "Yes, yes. Why wouldn't it be darling?"
• "You have great humor today, I was just wondering what helped you?"
• "Sometimes you just get up with a right leg. I am just making the most of it."

My mom left me wondering about the mystical source of her happiness. For sure it was weird. Maybe she was on some kind of ****, or she finally set up a date with dad. They seemed so distant nowadays. Anyway, it seemed like there was no way to pull it out of her.
