Probably how you expected

Me and Kat met up by building C. Kat was quick with her lock picking set. I was looking around and trying to use my body to hide her from any potential prying eyes. I heard a click as Kat tapped me on the leg to signal it was open.

"Kind of like old times ain't it?" Kat said as she followed me. "Remember when we used to sneak into class to smoke after hours?"

"Yeah, though don't remind me of that. We were such idiots," I said remembering back to those old days.

"Were she says as we break into a classroom at midnight," Kat said with a chuckle.

"Shut up," I said rolling my eyes.

We made our way into the room and Kat began working on the desk lock.

"Holy shit, the desk lock is harder than the building lock, what does he have in here, the holy grail," Kat said.

"Not actually that far off honestly," I said. Granted maybe it was more accurate to call it the unholy grail.

After about ten minutes, Kat pulled it open and I saw the book. I grabbed it instantly. I looked through the drawer to be extra careful but nothing else of note was there.

"Got it, let's go."

We rushed outside to one of the community areas and I went to light it on fire.

"Wait, hold up," Kat said, grabbing it. "I wanna see why this book is so important." She thumbed through it but noticed it was empty. "Really? All that for a two dollar notebook."

"Well, that works better for me honestly. Still thanks Kat. But I still want to burn it," I said as she returned it.

A moment later and the book was nothing more then a pile of ash.

I went back to my dorm and slept more soundly then I had recently. The following morning I had to go to Samuel's class. I was quiet eager to see how he'd react. When class was dismissed, he opened the desk drawer and a visibly panic began to show on his face.

He looked at me. "Tessa, did you do this?" he asked.

I felt a sense of smugness come over me. We were alone now that the rest of the class was gone. "Damn right I did."

He slumped to his knees. "After all that work. All that planning! You went and destroyed Mr. Kedder's birthday present. Dirty move Tessa!"

What!? My mind went into a sharp panic. No, it couldn't be. He was-

"If you think I am lying then simply stand up, or do you need permission?" he asked.

I tried to stand. I tried to move my butt any amount away from my chair but it wouldn't move. Not even an inch. The notebook! I destroyed it though.

Samuel was laughing. "I guess it is to be expected. Your new to the game but do you really think this tactic is something I did not expect? Tsk tsk tsk Tessa. Your going to be more clever than that. Now it is time, for a punishment."

My throat closed up. I didn't like the sound of that!
