Trying something new

I wake up and roll over in bed I glance at my clock 7:35 I close my eyes for a second before the shoot back open and I read it again I mumble "crap" as I stand up and rush to my closet to get dressed, I grab a pair of leggings and a hoodie I slip them on and rush downstairs to catch a ride with Pat but he's already gone I sigh as I grab my bag and walk to school,

I get to school late and head to the office "excuse me mrs.brown, can I get a late pass" she nods as she starts writing me one I look around the office and see a poster I read over to myself "basketball cheer tryouts November 13th after school" I glance at my phone seeing today is December 13th, I go grab my late pass "thanks Mrs.brown"

I hurry to class and sit down really thinking about doing cheerleading, being a gymnast at my last school I'd be good at it and maybe not a loser for once at this school. After the next few classes I head to lunch sit by myself again, before finishing out my classes.

After school I'm standing in the hallway pacing back and forth worried and nervous about trying out, I finally decide it's a good idea and head into the gym I walk over to the cheer coach "h- hi I'm Courtney Whitmore and I'd love to try out"

She gives me a quick look up and down "yeah your pretty cute go get ready for tryouts"

Excited I practically skip to the locker room and get dressed in my gym clothes as I'm leaving I run into Sara and Mindy that laugh "trying to be a cheerleader now?"

I roll my eyes as I push past them "move please" I shut the door behind me heading out into the gym, I go through tryouts showing off my kicks and flips but by the end I can't tell what coach is thinking
