You decide you'll simply stay home. After all, there's no need for you to go out to soothe your mind. Your home is comfortable and though big and lonely, you have that gardens and the koi to keep you company.

The wind carries the sweet scent of cherry blossoms that you've loved every since you were a boy. The tall walls and the voices of patrolling guards and servants carries a sort of calming effect, the normalcy factor of the nighttime providing enough company for you to forget that uncharacteristic urge. There's no reason to dwell on something that you cannot possibly ever let happen--your family honor means everything to you.

Instead, you find your favorite cherry blossom tree and eye the petals that are finally coming into bloom. Your hand reaches up to stroke one of the velvet flowers, your mind completely focused on the task of enjoying memories that are pleasant.

You hardly pay any attention to the approaching footsteps, though your mind is constantly on alert. It wouldn't be the first time someone's invaded your space and attempting something as pointless as an ****.
