Some Papers And An Amulet

Viki must have used the same "bottomless" enchantment on the envelope as Selena had on hers. Your evidence for this is when three folded pages of paper, an unfolded note, and what looks to be a gold amulet with a blue jewel in the center that was split in half down the center and then attached to a silver necklace chain, fall out of it and onto your bed. Picking up the note first, and seeing that Viki's handwriting is almost as meticulous and refined as Harmony's, you read:

Have whoever you need to question sit on one of the Truth Bindings on these other papers and they will be compelled to give three answers about one subject. If you ask any more or try to change the subject, it will burn out and give them a zap on the bottom. Amelia says it really hurts and requires a lot of rubbing to soothe.

As for paying me back, you can help me with another experiment I'm working on. All you have to do is wear the necklace and make sure the amulet is against your skin for a few hours or all day, if you can manage it.

With a shrug of your shoulders you put the amulet on and tuck it into your shirt, shivering as the cold metal touches your skin. You do not feel anything, so whatever effect it is supposed to have is not immediate or not very strong... not that you do not trust Viki at this point or anything.

You also tuck two of the miniature Truth Bindings in your pockets. The two are for your plan to help Selena with Mana and Artie and the other, which you stash in the desk on your side of the room, is for-- well, best not to get into that yet before finding out if what you want to do is even possible or not.

After that, it is another early afternoon of suffering through your second dry, bland, unremarkable Historical Figures of Magic class before returning to your room once again to find the window open and Tara poking at what looks like a large and thick padded envelope... that is somehow folded into the shape of a paper airplane. You have a pretty good idea of who it is from and that idea is confirmed when the envelope darts off the bed, flies around behind you, and smacks against the back of your head before returning to its original resting place.

Yep. Looks like Harmony came through for you.

Opening up the package, you pull out the cloak she promised you and look it over. You can already feel it is made of lower quality material than the one she used before, the tactile sensation reminding you of an overly fuzzy winter sweater. Not unbearable but it WAS a step down from the cool silken fabric of Harmony's.

It was still good enough for your purposes when the time came. Though now that you have the things you need, you have to decide what to do next. You have a few more hours to kill before it is time for your meet-up with Selena so you could do some of your homework for your next classes, maybe see more about if your plan is feasible, or play with Tara a little (which would admittedly be part of working on your next assignment for Intermediate Summoning).
