He pops the question

"Ooooooh Clarkie" whimpers Mindy as Clark is on her again, they've been at it for hours, Clark just acting on impulse on every base instinct, at this rate Mindy thought she'd need a surgeon or at least a crowbar to separate the two of them as Clark climaxes again he rolls off. She sensually breaths into his ear "That was scrumptious Clarkie, I love this new you", he looks at her "This isn't a new me Mindy, it's always been here but with you it seems like it's the first time I've truly known myself"...

Later at city hall Mindy is taking in her first full day as Mayor of the city sat behind her with Superman at her right hands side, the entire former police **** burst into the office lead by a union head, Mindy doesn't even look up from her paper work as he bangs on the desk with his fist Superman grabs the fist and looks at Mindy, she motions for him to let go "Watch the desk it's been a staple of city hall since the city was founded in 1661" says Mindy, the union head replies "With all due respect Mindy...", "Uh Mayor" she corrects him, "Mayor Min...Church, you can't just fire us we have union guarantees, you can't just take the law into your hands, it's all in the contract", Mindy looks at him "You're going to lecture the world's greatest superhero on the law? You know I've never liked unions, but you're right you do a have a contract..." she holds it up "But I have a Superman and he's got a great way of getting out of these legalities" she taps him and he lasers a hole right through it, narrowly missing the union leader and leaving a burn mark in the carpet "Oh I love it when he does that, careful of the rug though" the contract burns away "You can't do this Min...Mayor Church, you'll be hearing from my lawyers" she smiles "And they'll be hearing from him, be a peach and show them out , looking at them is hurting my neck" she returns to her paper work, they former police officers flood out of the door as Superman takes a step Mindy laughs like it's the funniest thing she's ever heard. Her phone rings it's Tempus, "Superman leave me this is private" he goes into a small secret room she'd had lined with lead "What is it?", Tempus replies "I just thought you'd like to know Lois has not a new job with The Daily Star", Mindy smiles we'll see about that...she hangs up the phone, Superman come here, he re-enters the room she motions to him "This will be fun" Mindy picks up the phone and calls the Daily Star editor George Taylor "Georgie it's Mayor Mindy how are you?", "I'm fine Mayor how are you finding the political life"..."Just peachy" replies Mindy she continues "I'm calling because I believe you've hired Lois Lane?", "Yeah, well the kids been down on her luck and she's a great rep..." Mindy cuts him off, "Fire her!", he goes quiet for a second "I can't do that Mindy there's no provocation", Mindy sighs "I'll make this easy for you George you fire her you get direct access to city hall, sponsorship from CostMart, if you don't then maybe next time Intergang are in town the Community officers don't show up so quick", George grips the phone tightly "Is that a threat", "Not at all Mr Taylor..." She motions with a pointed finger to Superman in less than a second he's outside George's window with glowing red eyes... He recoils in horror "You'll know when I'm threatening you", Superman flies back "Have I made my point Mr Taylor", "Yea....yeah, you've made your point", Mindy turns on the sugar again "Oh goodie I'd hate for us to not get along" she hangs up...Lois walks into George's office "Hey chief I've got a line on Intergang and The Community being connected I want to go and cause a stir at city hall, "Listen Lane, you know I've always wanted you here, you're the best but we need to talk"...

Over the coming days Mindy put into place sweeping reforms, she's charging crippling security rates on all buildings and points of interest in town, those who can't pay are visited by Intergang until they find the money, she cuts deep into social programs, and doubles and in some cases triples taxes due from ordinary citizens, and sells off public service contracts to shell companies of Intergang for exorbitant prices, the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, but she's getting even richer.

Meanwhile Superman flew off to Jharkhand India, not famous for many things except it's coal reserves he flew into the mine finding a perfect single piece of coal he grabbed it in his hand crushing it into a perfect Diamond and what a diamond a quick glance would price it somewhere around the $50,000 mark, Superman immediately had a platinum ring attached and jetted back to city hall "Where have you been Clark? Asked Mindy, "Nowhere...", Mindy cut him off "That's a lie Clarkie, what's in your hand", he looks at her, she pulls the Subliminator and pushes the button to release the perfume, grabs Clark's hand opens it seeing the biggest diamond ring she's ever seen "Ooooooh is that for me?", Clark nods, she swipes it and checks it, "it's beautiful..." she looks at Clark "why aren't you on one knee?" He bends down, "Mindy you've changed my life in so many ways, I can't imagine you not being with me, I love you so much and I'd love it if you'd marry me", Mindy looks at him disappointingly "Is that it? Is there no more?", he looks at her "I'm sorry Mindy, I love you, you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, you've bewitched me and stolen my heart I can't breath without you please marry me" she looks at him, makes him wait an agonisingly long amount of time "I think.....WE NEED A CAMERA CREW IN HERE" she signals for her staffers to start making arrangements, "I want to hear that again from the top stay on one knee", cameras fill the room as Superman repeats himself and Mindy screams "YEESSS, I'LL BE MRS SUPERMAN, OR IS THAT MRS MAN?" It's on every news channel, Lois is in a drab brown robe at home half way through a pint of Rocky Road Ice cream looking through her files connecting the dots of Intergang and The Community when she sees the whole scene play out on TV "That Bitch, I'm coming to city hall and I'm going to kick your ass"...she looks at herself "maybe not looking like this"...

Sometime later Mindy and Superman have just finished giving interviews about the upcoming nuptials, the reporters have gone and Lois looking the hottest she's ever looked barges through the door she's got the antidote in her pocket but she needs to wait for the perfect opportunity and with that helmet covering his nose that would be challenging, Mindy raises an eyebrow "Miss Lane, to what do we owe the pleasure? Have you come to congratulate us on the upcoming nuptials? Or have you come for a job? I hear things aren't going too well for you, I may have a job opening in the city's sanatation division" she smirks, "That's funny you should say that Mindy I'm here to take out the trash" Lois replies, she approaches Mindy's desk, Superman as always at her right hand side, she lays out some papers on her desk "Here you'll find a comprehensive report connecting Intergang to the community and guess which bleach blonde Barbie doll reject is the common denominator?" Mindy peruses the papers "Good work Lane, only problem is there's not a media outlet in the city that will give you the time of day", Lois looks at Mindy "Yeah I'm finding it hard to get anyone to listen, not that you'd have anything to do with that...but I have some friends in DC, they're listening and they're very interested...", Mindy looks up "And what will DC do? Launch an attack on the woman engaged to Superman?" Lois looks at Superman who hasn't acknowledged her once "What have you done to him?", "Made him happier than you ever did, why don't we ask him?...Oh Clarkie, tell Miss Lane how little she means to you.", Lois looks at him "Hey why don't you take the helmet off? It's not really you and you know it's like a hat it's rude to wear indoors Superman approaches Lois "You're nothing to me if you cross Mindy I'll cut down where you stand...", A proverbial lightbulb flashes over Mindy's head "WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA, KILL LOIS LANE AND MAKE IT HURT" she pushes the button on the Subliminator, the perfume, visions of Mindy everything attacking his mind again. Lois looks at Mindy "He'll never do it..." Superman walks towards her, Lois suddenly losing confidence "You know I'll just slip out and we can forget this whole thing ever happened" she turns to leave Superman grabs her arm and pushes her down, he stands over lifts a fist, Lois closes her eyes prepares for the worst, 5 seconds seem like an eternity as Superman hoists his fist above Lois' face he can't hurt her, Lois opens her eyes "Fight it Clark, whatever she's doing I know you're in there fight it", Mindy approaches sprays him with the higher concentration, she's rubbing her body against his back "Kill her Clark and we can go back to my place for some fun", she turns him around and kisses him deep, Clark was soaking every bit of it in, he reaches for Lois and grabs her by the throat she's struggling to breath as Mindy approaches "How ironic, the man you couldn't keep hold of and now you can't get him to keep his hands off you, you've lost Lois, your man and your city belong to me, it's a shame you won't live to see my plan come into fruition...do hurry Clark" she taps him she laughs as he squeezes tighter, Lois is flayling her arms with her last bit of effort she strikes Clark straight in the face the helmet comes loose and falls off, Clark let's go in shock, it's the first time in weeks he's had any respite from the red kryptonite, he's a mess, greasy hair, sunken bloodshot eyes, he looks at Lois, she sprays his face with the antidote he recoils, Mindy is speechless but signals for her guards, Clark looks at Lois desperately "Help me!"
