Who gets them?
A Dark Elf named Jin
Deep within the confines of a rotted forest that surrounded what appeared to be a school building stood a single male figure on a dirt path.
He wore a green blazer wrapped around his waist, with brown slacks held up by a black belt, an unbuttoned white dress shirt, a dark green wife beater and black shoes. Beneath said clothing appeared various tattoos on the back of the neck and on his left pectoral. On his hands he wore white medical tape similar to a fighter.
The young man stood at 176 cm tall with a seemingly slim build. His skin was dark brown with messy golden blonde hair and heterochromic eyes with the left a dull grey and the right a dark violet. Resting above the right eye was a celtic rune for strength.
His name was Jin and this was NOT how he expected his first day at Yokai University to go.
That wasn't to say he was upset per se. More like he really didn't see this current situation coming. The situation being what to do with the painfully average guy currently laying slumped against a log on the side of the path.
To fill in the blanks several things need to be made clear before we go forward.
To start off Jin was not human. He was actually an Elf. A Dark Elf to be more precise. This breed of Elf were quite different from the refined and gentle image that the term typically brought up.
With pale blue skin, cold black eyes and bone white hair they were far more aggressive and violent than any of their kin. Combat, be it open conflict or **** was their bread and butter and steel their favorite tool. It was actually common for them to get into small scale wars amongst themselves between rival clans and skirmishes with other monsters and other Elves.
Jin however was slightly different from the typical Dark Elf. His father was a Mythic Elf. Mythic Elves were considered the peak of the Elven race. In terms of strength they hovered somewhere in the low S-tier of monster power scaling. This was due to their mastery in the arts of war and magic.
Jin being the bastard of a Mythic Elf father and a Dark Elf mother (who was a concubine before being tossed aside) was considered a Noble Elf. In Elven culture Noble Elves were the equivalent of Demigods. This was due to Noble Elves inheriting the ability to use magic and being sturdier than their otherwise normal kin. For the Dark Elves this magic ranged from darkness, to earth, and magma to the very best using more esoteric magic such as curses, extrasensory and shape shifting.
Naturally with these benefits came costs. As stated Dark Elves were among the most aggressive sub species of Elves. Jin was both a symbol of power and envy for his people. This resulted in constant challenges and attempts on his life from the time he turned 5. Regardless of age taking down what was essentially a Demigod could make a normal Elf famous.
Not that Jin had any problem with that. He welcomed every challenger with open arms with a knife in each hand. Whether it was a sanctioned tournament match, a drunken brawl or an ambush attempt he weathered though it all and come out stronger for it. Due to these battles his prowess with his abilities skyrocketed.
He was a master swordsman a capable tactician and uncannily stealthy. His skills with magic came a bit slower however. He was by now steps away from mastering Earth magic, had a good grasp of Darkness magic and recently begun tapping into his extrasensory abilities.
There were times he'd felt his muscles quiver and bones shift. A sign that shape shifting was a soon to be possibility. During times of intense rage he'd felt the beginnings of Curse magic on the tips of his fingers. He could summon magma...control was completely absent sadly.
So why is he at some school in a creepy forest you ask? Well to make a long story short his clan elder had, to put it bluntly, **** and tossed him out and told him to make something of himself.
While Dark Elves mainly stuck to themselves the did trade in resources with other monsters and Elves. They were also in high demand as hitmen, bodyguards and thieves. Basically Jin was ordered to start earning some coin or don't comeback.
Symbol of pride for their race or not if you don't work you don't eat and Dark Elves won't tolerate free loaders.
Hence Jin decided to come to Yokai University a school dedicated to educating monsters on how to blend in amongst human society. Jin had very little desire to spend the rest of his days hidden away in the Elven Realms amongst his clan. That said he wasn't yet strong enough to fend off a clan's worth of pursuers along with whatever other Elves that might think of "doing the world a favor" and take out a barbaric Dark Elf. Kicking him out was his golden ticket out.
Few Elves ever made the Human World a permanent residence. It was so ripe with crime that a Dark Elf like Jin could make a killing in any number of illegal activities. So long as he didn't expose the supernatural and sent some cash his Clans' way after graduation he was free to do as he pleased.
So after filling out an application form he'd been mulling over before he'd gotten the boot and shifting into a human form he'd hopped on the inter realm bus headed for Yokai U.
Which leads us to now. Jin had been walking down the path minding his own business taking in the ambiance. You know admiring the headstones, skeletal remains and the haunting call of the winds. The little things we don't give enough appreciation to.
Then his peace and quiet had been ruined by Mr Average Joe over there on the log screaming like a little girl and running like a headless chicken until he'd bumped into Jin. The idiot then began rambling at the Dark Elf about how "creepy" the place was, demanding where was he and blah blah blah.
Jin had been half way to chucking the punk up into a tree and leaving him there before his extrasensory started ringing in the back of his head.
Something was off about the guy and the longer Jin stared at him the more the clues piled up.
See when monsters take on human forms it isn't as perfect as one would think. Their nails or teeth could be sharper and more defined than a Human. Or perhaps their eyes are more slit like or a rare color. Ears and noses could be oddly shaped. Even more humanoid monsters like Witches/Wizards, Doppelgangers and Homunculi gave off a charged feeling within their general area.
This guy (who yes was STILL whining) didn't have any of that.
Jin narrowed his eyes. There was only one kind of being that gave off such an air of nothingness. A Human. Somehow, someway a fucking Human had gotten an application form and gotten into the Monster Realm. Jin did the single most rational thing he could do in the situation.
He punched the bastard right across the jaw.
So there he was, in the middle of the forest looking at an **** Human who was (un)lucky enough to stumble into the Monster Realm.
Jin sighed in irritation, "Now that I can hear myself think what do I do with you?"
While Yokai U taught about coexistence there was a strict no Humans allowed policy. If one was discovered they were either killed on sight, enslaved and sent back to the enslavers home or reported to a staff member for the school to deal with them.
"So not what I had in mind when I got here."
What does Jin do?

Normality
Don't mind the fucking, nothing to see here
Once upon a time, on a bet and while very very drunk, a higher power of some kind made a very special item.
