Chapter 24

How to deal with the new threat?
Charge it while its off-guard
Jessica acted almost instinctively, the bandoleer slapping against her as the heavy stops closed the distance. The beast-man seemed sluggish to respond, as Jessica pushed her shoulder into the thing's midsection. She could hear it exhale sharply as it was knocked back a step. Feeling some victory in having charged the thing, and having some effect on it, Jessica realized she hadn't planned further than this. The beast grinned down on her as it raised the rake, its torch dropped to the ground in the jostle in a shower of sparks.
She panicked and dove for the torch, any weapon at this time, but then she felt the cold metal bite her flesh in a rending sweep, paining singing up her back as she was knocked a few steps away. Oddly Jessica felt thrilled. Here she was, with a weapon and Blood, practically fighting a beast. Jessica scrambled to her feet, ignoring the small puddle of her blood. The beast looked back at her quizzically, as if surprised with her. But she could still see the tell-tale engorgement of it's maleness under his tight rags that served as pants. Jessica had found her off hand had unconsciously gone to her bandoleer. She hadn't counted the vials, but she knew she had more than few. Her back radiated pain as her wound wet her back.
What now Madam Hunter?
