What's next?

Clara investigates

Clara hurried into the corridor, boots clacking on the floor, and then out into the quad. She saw the outside of her classroom window where she had spotted the robot, and she quickly went after it.

"What are you?" Clara wondered aloud, passing her window which her students were gathering around, wondering what their weird teacher was doing now.

She went around the corner, there was no sign of the robot but there was an alley on the other side of the road which it might have gone down particularly, as Clara now remembered, since it led to an electrical substation. She suspected that was the sort of thing a robot might be interested in.

She was right; at the end of the alleyway, she found the weird robot working on cutting its way through a fence with a torch. The figure was about as tall as her, its body shaped like a Dalek but with four spider legs to move around, and a pair of arms with tools on the end instead of the Daleks' usual sucker and gun.

"Hey, you." Clara called out. The robot swiveled a dome-shaped head towards her and narrowed its three glowing eyes. "Yeah, you, what's going on here?"

"Error. Interruption." the robot announced.

"Yeah, I'm interrupting you." Clara stepped closer, "Now how about you tell me what you're doing here, yeah?"

"Must find another source." the robot intoned, and began to scuttle towards her. Clara judged her chances if the metal creature barreled into her, and stepped aside at the last moment, avoiding being run down but not quite avoiding her dress brushing against the robot. There was the harsh sound of tearing stitching.
