Is this the right place?
Yes
You double, triple and quadruple check that this is the right address. Okay, that’s weird. The apartment you were looking at was well within your price range after all. The wonders of modern GPS never lie. You swallow your brave pills and approach the door. They open automatically and you approach the front desk.
A bored looking zombie glances up and sighs, “Are you here for the apartment…” she mumbled, unable to muster even the smallest amount of apathy. An articulate zombie is a rare sight indeed, she must be very old. Her skin is pale, and her eyes bear dark bags. Almost all of the women in the city are undead of some variety but the vast majority are lowly zombies.
“Uh, yes?”
“Elevator. Floor twenty. Next.”
You look behind you, but there’s nobody else waiting for her service. “Thanks, I guess.” The elevator is probably bigger than the broom closet you live in right now. You push the button and ride it up to the twentieth floor. The doors slide open into a long corridor. However, there’s only one pair of double doors to enter through. This is way above your paygrade, this isn’t a hidden cheap apartment for new tenants, this is one of the executive suites!
Brave pills, brave pills.
You’re all out. You hand shakes as it hovers over the oak wood. No time like the present. Knock knock, you strike twice and step back like the door will bite you. It slowly, painfully creeps open to reveal a single blood red eye.
“Uh, I’m here about the apartment.”
It swings open. You yell out in surprise as you’re wrapped into a tight embrace. Cold cleavage meets you cheek as the tenant lavishes you with sudden affection. “Oh, aren’t you just the cutest little human boy! Come in, come in!” You barely have time to register what is happening before you’re shoved onto a plush red couch that costs more than your yearly paycheck. You spin around and catch the tail end of a purple dress fluttering around another corner. What the hell is going on?
