The good news was that Chihiro found her glasses. The bad news was that she found them as she shifted her weight onto the hand that had found them.
*snap* *crunch*
Chihiro felt her blood run cold. She knew that sound. She feared that sound.
"Oh no. Oooooh no. No, no NO!" Chihiro said, fear rising in her voice. Her glasses couldn't be broken! Not now!
Unfortunately for Chihiro, the truth was undeniable. The twisted metal and shattered glass under her hand were impossible to ignore. Her glasses were broken. Now, not only was she naked in school, she was naked and essentially blind in school.
Chihiro felt her worries begin to grow. It had taken a great deal of courage to even keep herself from freezing up in the hallway. Without her glasses, how was she supposed to navigate the school? Anything further than a few feet directly in front of her was blurry now, how was she supposed to stay aware of her surroundings?
Even though she was now practically blind, Chihiro knew that she couldn't just hide in the darkroom forever. She'd have to keep going if she wanted to get out of this mess, glasses or no. Still... could she do this?
"Just... stay close to the wall, rely on my hearing, and always be alert" Chihiro said to herself.
She could do this. She just had to be careful and luckier than she had ever been in her life. After a few minutes of blindly groping in the darkness, Chihiro found the door to the darkroom. Slowly, the shy girl slid the door open and stuck her head out into the hallway. The coast was... fuzzy. Still, there weren't any human-shaped blobs in sight, so it seemed safe enough. Slowly, Chihiro stepped back out into the hallway, keeping a hand on the wall to keep herself oriented.
Chihiro wasn't sure where to go next, but she knew she'd need to go somewhere with light. At least then she'd be able to search a bit more easily. As Chihiro made her way down the hall-
