Defeated By Bandits

While the main purpose of the Hunters and Huntresses was to protect Humanity against Grimm not every mission was a simple extermination against the creatures of Darkness. Hunters also undertook missions to scout out locations in the wilds, retrieve materials or supplies, investigate and patrol areas, long-term protection missions for individuals or distant villages, and other various things.

As such, it wasn't suspicious when Team RWBY took on a contract to investigate a stretch of road in the wilderness noted for a high rate of disappearances of individuals and supply convoys. Most likely such things meant a large pack of Grimm had moved into the area. Team RWBY was charged with finding the source of the disappearances and either eliminating it if they were able or bringing the information back to Beacon if it was beyond them. Overall, it was a standard mission the girls had read mission reports about dozens of times.

Perhaps that's why they were caught by surprise when the cause of the disappearances turned out not to be creatures of Grimm, but Human bandits.

Ruby coughed weakly as she collapsed to her knees, her aura broken.

"Ha, stupid little Huntresses." The young bandit that had struck the final blow against her gloated. "You think just because you get some training at a fancy school you can stand up to people who have been fighting their whole lives. Your civilization has made you soft."

Ruby tried to make some sort of cunning comeback, but instead she groaned and flopped on to the ground. She had been beaten back to the point of exhaustion. Right now moving or even talking was beyond her.

From her spot of the ground she saw the white still form of Weiss, the heiress beaten into unconsciousness. Further on she saw Blake being hit in the back of the head by another bandit and fall down ****. Yang continued to fight, but right now she was surrounded by five bandits. The five dogpiled on the raging blonde, and soon Ruby saw Yang laying still, beaten into **** as well.

Team RWBY lay defeated by the band of bandits, who celebrated that they had managed to defeat and capture an entire cell of rookie huntresses. As she lay unmoving, she felt Crescent Rose pulled out of her grip and her body picked up and slung over some broad bandit's shoulder. The rest of her team was treated the same and soon the defeated team RWBY was carried off to parts unknown by their captors.
