Chapter 5

What do you find?
Ooh Shinies! (Worst combat awareness)
The cloaked figure jogs down the hallway focused on the chest at the end. They open it and rummage around looking at the loot they received from it.
"Telekinesis scroll? What does that do? I can learn telekinesis when I get a free skill slot. Grr, that's no good right now. Plate armor of intellect? That's a ridiculous oxymoron. It should sell for a lot though. Mail boots of Intellect? Buckler of Intellect? Wand of Intellect? Mace of Intellect? Necklace of Intellect? Raises INT by 15%? That's decent."
"Ooh! A Legendary item! First one! A Greater Charm amulet! What does this do? Let's see... It lets the wearer cast Greater Charm... Holy shit this is good! It lets me make an enemy fall in love with me and they will join me and follow my orders. At the least it makes them stop attacking me. Ooh, and the Greater part makes the level difference penalty not start until 5 levels above me. Aww, it doesn't work on bosses. Should work on lieutenants though."
"Higher INT is more effective... Aww, crap! My INT isn't high enough. If I could equip all this crap I could easily cast it. Guess I know where all my stat points are going next time I level up."
The whole time I have been slowly inching my way down the long hallway and they haven't turned around or noticed me. I can barely hear the sounds of combat in the distance so this adventurer is on their own and oblivious to any danger around them.
Who doesn't turn around?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
