Ino has overheard them

Unbeknown to the two original members of Team 7, Sakuras rival, Ino, had overheard their entire conversation, and her mind raced before it came to a decision.

"Hey there, Naruto. Whatcha doing here?", Ino said as she walked up to him, apparently just so happening to stumble on him.

"Oh, hi, Ino-chan!", Naruto greeted her. "Not much... I just got an order from the Hokage, and...", he started to explain, but was cut off quickly by the blonde.

"I accept!", Ino answered quickly.

"Wha-....?", Naruto asked, dumbfounded.

"You were going to ask me, right? I mean, of course you did, it's pretty obvious why you'd ask me.", Ino said as she pushed her bang of hair out of her face.

Naruto looked at her face, and once more decided, that Yamanaka Ino was quite a sexy vixen, especially for her age. He couldn't help but stare and even drool slightly, which delayed his answer.

That however annoyed Ino now a bit. "Hello? Naruto? Weren't you going to ask me to marry you?", she asked, tapping her foot in an unnerved manner.

"Ah right... uh... do you want to marr-?", Naruto began, but once more, he was cut off by an over-eager Ino, who quickly squealed a "Yes!", then proceeded to kiss him quickly and take off in the general direction of the Hokages tower.

Heh, that's gonna make forehead girl pretty jealous, I bet., she thought as she ran towards the big red building, to catch up to Sakura.

Ino of course was unaware of the exact nature of this engagement, but she considered it as merely a way to annoy and outmatch Sakura once more. She thought Naruto was nice enough, but she did not yet thought of him in any romantic way, but she had to admit, he had his perks...

Naruto looked after her as Ino took off, a little confused, but happy. He wasn't the one who had asked now, and Ino... well, Ino WAS quite nice to look at, at the very least. And, he had his first real kiss with a girl... even if it had felt a little awkward for him, but oh well!

Still, he wondered if only two girls were enough... and if it once more wasn't a mistake to accept Ino, as he knew of her rivalry with Sakura, and their similar attitudes. Maybe he had even just gotten into a bigger mess than planned...

Anyway, Naruto decided to have another stroll around Konoha, partly to look for more girls, partly to think...
