Loot?

There isn't a ton, but everybody manages to take the dungeon apart enough to find a large pile of coins. The knight twins gather it all into two sacks. You expected more, but if your party alone were somehow allowed to take everything, you could live off it for a long time. It wouldn't be a lavish life of luxury, but you wouldn't have to sleep in a crappy inn room and eat cheap stew. You also wouldn't have to fight anymore liches.

Though, this isn't a perfect world, and they're not just going to hand all the treasure over to you.

"How are we splitting this?" you ask.

Nyllia turns. "I find you interesting, Mr. Warren. You seem to have adventured previously. You are quite skilled with a blade, and you're quite clever. I do wonder what class you are."

"He has this Mend spell too. Really useful one, that is," Niki speaks up. "And this one where he uses his sword."

"I guess you can't mend something that melted completely, huh?" Eva says and looks down at her gown. "What a shame..."

"You must be a Spellblade. Is that correct?" Nyllia guesses.

"Oh, uh. Yes. You got it first try." Might as well roll with that. God I hope that's a real class.

"Yet despite all of that," Nyllia continues. "You never asked how we would distribute loot. That is one of the first things every single time I join somebody's party. But not you. Either you are just that valorous, or something was truly distracting you."

Crap. She's right. But she wouldn't screw us over like that. Right?

"But worry not." She nods. "You will get your reward. I swear on my honour as a paladin. But first, we must return to the one that gave us this quest to begin with. It is her that will decide what to do."

You breath a sigh of relief. You then see the two scouts walk over with their equipment reclaimed. They're both armed with daggers, bows, and arrows.

"Thank you so much, Lady Tesgella!" the boy says. "We owe you our lives.
