Confront Amara about her magic.

It's Nyllia that kneels down before her first. She inspects her closely, and then asks, "You have a knot in your magic circuit."

Amara hangs her head. "I do, yes."

"What exactly does that mean anyway?" you ask.

Nyllia turns to you. "Elves are known for their potent magical abilities. Unfortunately, however, there is a rare defect that can occur within one's body. Think of mana as an energy that is flowing along a rope. The rope winds and curls, but the energy still flows through it all the same. Now, imagine a knot tied in that rope. It would spend extra time in one area, and struggle for a moment through the tightness, before passing through. Does that make sense?"

"So Amara has a knot right on her..."

"Do not say it out loud!" Amara pleads as she pushes her hands down against her dress.

Wow. Now I feel bad. That actually really sucks that she has to deal with that.

Nyllia slides a hand down the side of her head to comfort her. "But dear. You do know it is an incredibly easy mutation to cure, yes?"

... Huh?

You look to Amara, and her back to you. The two of you stare for a moment. There are no words.

"Something else that is interesting, however," Nyllia says as she stands back up to face you. "Such a defect also allows one's magic to be more potent. The mana builds up in that knot, so it comes out like a burst. It isn't substantial, but it is an increase nonetheless. Perhaps that is why she has never cured such an easily fixable issue."

Amara nods her head quickly. "Y-Yes! I need that power to help people in need!"

I can't believe this.

"Such kind-hearted adventurers," Nyllia says as she walks her way back to her knights.
