Don't waste your time, climb that ladder.

Jessica turned sharply away, despite her body's aches, it wasn't worth the risk. She only had so much strength.
The ladder proved sturdy, and a relief from the thick murk. Leading her up the scaffolding. It don't go all the way up to where she fell from, but the platform led the bridge to the dry docks. If she couldn't get home, getting shelter from the beasts would do just as well. Surely there'll be someone who could take her in.

After taking a moment to wipe more grime off of her, and pull the limited still-soaked garments closer to her, trying to hide her nakedness, Jessica padded under the moonlight. Crossing the bridge, Jessica could see torchlight moving up the staircase. Surely even if beasts could use a cinderblock like the dead brute, they weren't still human enough to use a torch... right?
