Alfred makes a Tour

Chapter 160 by Colleem Colleem

Slowly the car drove through the streets of Gotham directly to an abandoned factory near the remains of the port. Only a few dared to go to such a place at that time, knowing that this factory was the home of the wolves. The older man slowly got out of the car and walked straight towards the entrance. Slowly he approached the gate and had to lean on his stick. At the gates he could see two thugs who immediately got in his way and laughed out loud.

"Hey old geezer! Where are you think you're going?" laughed one of them before the old man took the cane from his legs and sent the second one to the mat as well. Without slowing down, he just kept walking. Behind him the two got up again and cursed loudly but a single look from the man intimidated them so much that they held back.

When Alfred arrived at the main gate he knocked in a good mood and waited until someone opened the door for him. A young man looked at him and growled a "What do you want, old man?"

"Good evening, sir. My master wishes me to introduce myself to the gentlemen of the house. Would you be so kind as to announce me?" Alfred smiled friendly and leaned on the stick.

"And who shall I announce bum?"

"Please tell them Alfred is outside the door, freezing." Alfred smiled as he watched the man's face slip away completely. Hastily he ripped open the door and whistled loudly.

"BOYS! Alfred is here!! ALFRED!" he yelled and immediately Alfred could see a dozen werewolves coming towards him. A few other humans were also present and all stopped a few meters in front of him. Many of the werewolves just stood there and looked down in awe at the older man as the 2 guards from the gate arrived and roared.

"Hey guys. This motherfucker snuck past us! Come on, let's kick this motherfucker out."

Immediately there was an almost eerie silence. Everyone looked at the speaker stunned when a huge black shadow fell behind the human. Slowly, the titanic, pitch-black werewolf stood up and gnashed its teeth furiously.

Panic-stricken, the guard turned around and had to stretch his head to face the Wolf King. He had never seen such an angry face before and beside him Harley and Ivy came out of the darkness. The king's two alphas were also furious and Harley let their claws slide over the cement.

"What did you just call Alfred?" Bruce hissed as he bent down to at least half look the man in the face.

"Al... Al... Alfred...?" Stammered the guard and felt his knees go soft. "The...Alfred?"

Eagerly Harley nodded to him and smashed a stone with his hand.

"Uh... I... have... made a... mistake?" the man tried to talk his way out of it when the Wolf King opened his mouth and roared at him. The long scream was deafening and smashed some windows behind them. You could clearly see a puddle forming on his legs and he ran away in a hurry.

Alfred rubbed his ears and leaned on his stick.

"I see you still haven't perfected your verbal repartee, Master Wayne?" he smiled and looked at Bruce who looked at him joyfully and shook himself. With a deep, throaty voice that barely reminded him of Bruce Wayne's voice.

"Alfred. It's been so long since we've seen each other. Come in and give me a few minutes to dress accordingly." Said Bruce almost with a happy undertone and slowly walked past his oldest friend. As Aloe Vera passed him, she bent down and let out a happy growl before gently pressing her nose against his forehead.

" Uncle AlfffiiiiiihIII" cried Harley and licked wildly all over his face while her tail wagged wildly back and forth.

"All right, Miss... Who am I talking to?

"WOOF WOOF!" she barked happily and so it was enough for her that he tickled her neck.

When he went to the factory he could see the others hurrying to make him a comfortable place. All of them eagerly brought pillows and some women put down tea.

"Thank you ladies." He smiled friendly as he rested his old bones on the chair. He could clearly feel the looks of all the wolves and humans on him and a young woman came to him and seemed almost nervous.

"Yes? How can I help you my lady?" he smiled at her.

"Sir. Is it really true that you raised Bruce Wayne?" she asked and everyone else slid closer.

"That is certainly true, young lady. If you wish, I can tell you how Master Wayne first fell into the well." He smiled when Bruce came out of a door and threw on a robe.

"I don't think THAT's the right story for our first meeting, don't you think?" he smiled and sat down next to him.

"As you wish, Master Wayne. However, I'll be staying in town longer from now on, so I'm sure we'll find a good time for old stories." He grinned in the direction of the disappointed woman, who immediately smiled and nodded.

"So Damien has finally returned?" Bruce smiled calmly and sipped his tea. "How is he doing?"

"Physically, he's a lot like you, Sir, but the events of the last 5 years haven't helped solidify his character."

"He's still an asshole?"

"Yes, sir." Alfred smiled softly and handed him all the documents Damien had given him. "Master Damien wishes to obtain information regarding these murders."

"Thank you. I'm not Batman anymore, though. Most of the time, I'm not even in this world anymore. But I make sure he gets the information he needs. Tell him I'll come and visit him."

An hour later in an old New Gotham museum.

Slowly Alfred walked through the abandoned entrance hall of the museum, which was still in pristine condition. The butler inside was impressed. The Were-Cats who lived in this building had an impressive sense of order. The display cases were very clean and the museum pieces were in perfect condition. Nobody had dared to disturb this sacred and important place for 5 years. During the day, the museum was open as usual and was run by the Wer-Cats, while with the onset of night only they were tolerated here. Even though he was old he could clearly feel how he was observed from the shadows. He had lived together with Batman for too long for him not to know if someone was lurking in the shadows.

Finally he could see the most beautiful woman of his life. She slid slowly down the main staircase and wore a beautiful black dress. Her eyes were greener than emeralds and the long black hair fell softly down her back. The dress did not in the least conceal her stunning body, but it was more her way of moving that impressed him. She had a tangible aura of elegance and grace.

"Welcome Alfred. I have been expecting you." She smiled and pointed to another area of the room where a table was already waiting.

Politely as always he accompanied her and took a seat. Impressed, he looked at the table, which was set to the finest standards. It looked almost as beautiful as when he was in Buckingham Palace.

"May I assume that you are the dear Lady Bastet?" smiled friendly and nodded to him.

"That is what they call me, yes. I am delighted that you have returned to your homeland to carry on the legacy of your pupil. Rest assured that this refuge will always be available to you and that you will be under my personal protection."

"Thank you, ladies, but forgive me for asking. To what do I deserve such an honor?"

Bastet looked at him for a long time and her eyes seemed almost absent before she said.

"Because I know you, Alfred Pennyworth. Better than you will ever know each other."
