Chapter 7 by hewhoismany hewhoismany

What do they do next?

They head to the Water Temple together.

Of course, they only stopped in Kakariko Village briefly. After purchasing some better horseriding clothes, they mounted Epona once more, and set out for the Water Temple, in Lake Hylia. The ride was long and dull, and without anything else to occupy Link's thoughts, they inevitably drifted to his former body, which he was tightly gripped to. It was strong, handsome, swift...Link saw what Ruto had seen in him. Namely, how attractive he was. It was difficult at times to stop himself from drooling. Once at the lake, they dismounted and approached the lake. "Halt, body." It did so. After some hemming and hawing, Link realized that unless he wanted his body to drown, he was not bringing it with him inside the temple. So, he told his body to lay down and get some sleep, and to defend itself if attacked. That done, Link entered the temple and began to solve it.

To his surprise, the task seemed much more annoying than it had the last two times, though whether that was the temple's layout or his new temperament, he was not sure. Regardless, he discovered that swimming was incredibly delightful in this body. The way the water curved around him, the speed he was able to move at, it was all amazing. Fighting enemies wasn't too tough either, as he could use his fins as blades when necessary. After a lot of Ocarina playing and puzzle solving, Link found himself in a large, seemingly endless room. The floor was like a puddle, with the exception of a small island in the middle that was only large enough to host an ancient and barren tree. The doors on the other side of the room were barred, which meant there was a puzzle here. Or a fight. Hearing something behind him, Link looked around and found...

What did Link find?
