Heading back home
Along the way
Ava and Delia took the walk back, slowly. Sure, they could've gone faster, but then they wouldn't be old ladies. That sort of break would make things worse in the long run.
"What do you want to do first, dear?" Ava remarked, getting a chuckle from Delia. She had an idea of what her former mother wanted. "Here you go."
Digging into her outfit, Ava pulled a pack out. Lighter came right after, just taking a slight flick as Delia grabbed herself a cigarette.
"Thank you, Ava." Delia answered, letting the cigarette enter her mouth for the moment. For some reason, this felt right to her. She wasn't sure why, but it just did for her. "Any drink in particular you want?"
Ava let out a chuckle.
"Surprise me." she answered, their home coming into view.
