Made For Humans

Gems are completely unlike organic lifeforms. As a result, it’s quite difficult for them to understand basic human needs and concepts without sitting down to explain it to them. Even the Crystal Gems, the ones who in the show spent the most time around humans, had trouble with this.

This option removes that roadblock. In their fabricated backstories Jasper, Peridot and Lapis were programmed with the knowledge that they would be serving a ‘Human Diamond’ so they were given an appropriate level of understanding for humans as a whole.

They will understand basic things like sex, reproduction, eating, the average human lifespan, sleeping, money, Earth’s technology, etc… They still won’t entirely ‘get’ everything but they’ll know enough to not make fools of themselves or make things awkward.
