How to scare a Ghost, 3 Brides are not enough for Dracula. Send in the Army!
As Dracula approached his castle, the gate slowly opened for the King of the Undead just before he reached the castle walls. In the courtyard he could see several corpses which all looked very fresh. All were bloodless and had died very recently. They were randomly selected citizens of Gotham. Apparently his wives had escaped from the ambush. However, the number of corpses indicated that they had barely made it. As soon as he had entered the interior of the castle, the castle reconfigured its areas so that it would bring him to his destination as quickly as possible.
From the lobby he went up the side stairs and turned left. Behind the first door he found there, the library room in which Talia was sitting in front of the fireplace holding a glass of wine full of blood in her hand was already waiting. Zatanna, on the other hand, stood by the window and looked grimly into the darkness. Vicky, however, behaved most conspicuously. She was the only one of the three who had no more wounds or scratches and yet she was the most furious. She walked up and down and clenched her fists. As soon as she discovered her master, Vicky ran towards him and hissed with bloodshot eyes.
She was about to raise her voice as Dracula walked past her without even noticing her. This obvious disinterest only made Vicky angrier.
"Master! Two-Face betrayed us all! We must hunt this miserable dog down on the spot and tear him to pieces! We have to destroy him with all our might" she hissed like thunder. Zatanna briefly looked at her and pulled up a brow while Talia sipped from her glass rolling her eyes. Both had noticed that something was wrong with Vicky. She was constantly upset ever since Harley destroyed her fine plan.
"Shut up" said Dracula and now Talia and Zatanna looked at him in complete amazement. Even though Dracula hadn't spoken very loudly, his words were of an unusual directness and hardness. The only one who hadn't noticed this hardness was Vicky of all people.
"Master! We must immediately..." she tried again and raised her voice against Dracula.
But he whirled around and hurried forward. With an angry gesture he grabbed her neck and smashed her against a wall. Helplessly wriggling Vicky panicked as he squeezed her neck further. Without the slightest mercy he pressed his hand further and further. Talia and Zatanna could see him squeezing her neck so hard that she would surely have died if she had been human.
"I said... SHUT UP!" he now yelled at her and then dropped her to the ground. Common sense finally won over Vickies anger and so she crawled away from him. Talia had watched the whole situation and every movement of her master closely. Something had changed. Something so serious that it had caused such a fundamental change in its nature.
Zatanna didn't have such a sharp perception but even she felt something was going on.
"Dearest? What happened?" she asked gently and tried not to irritate his anger any further.
Dracula went to the fireplace and stared into the fire. Finally he began to speak.
"I command you to find someone for me and bring her to me. If she gets even a single hair crooked, you can count on me to punish you for it. You will use all your resources and I expect success as soon as possible".
"Who shall we look for Master?" asked Talia who had risen from her place and bowed. She knew that she was one of the Dracula's legendary brides and on top of that she was just as sure that Dracula wanted her beauty over the other two, but she also knew that she was here to learn from him. As a child of a ninja brotherhood, she was used to obeying. And the rage and wrath that cooked beneath Dracula's surface at the moment made it dangerous for anyone near him not to obey him.
"You seek my wife. Her incarnation is in this city," he said calmly and all three women stared at him in disbelief. First and foremost Zatanna felt rising jealousy. "Zatanna... Keep your creatures under control. By that I mean in front of all this wretched clown" growled Dracula as the ghostly figure of the Joker appeared next to her and laughed out loud.
"You heard it Zatanna love! You have to make sure that I don't kill anyone by accident! Not that I would do that! MUAHAHAHAHAHHA! I am already looking forward to your attempt! I always say threatening death is a good thing! But hey! I am death already" he laughed and Zatanna just regretted terribly that she had summoned him. If the Joker would kill Dracula's wife she wouldn't be in the way anymore but surely Dracula would blame her for it. She had given up controlling Joker in the meantime. While her power over the other spirits was quite good and they followed all her orders exactly, Joker was different for some reason.
Dracula looked closely at the floating clown and pulled the eyebrows together.
"Do you dare threaten my wife?"
"Oh come on Dracu! I can call you Dracu, can't I? Or rather Ula? Oh heaven. I know a great joke about a Ula, Dracu! But a joke aside. And what do you want to do to me mh? I mean I am here! So I can enjoy it too! And believe me! I will have a lot of fun with your wife! I hope she looks just as hot as your other women! Well, I like Talia's tits, but Zatanna's ass is not to be despised either"!
To everyone's astonishment Dracula remained completely calm with these words and smiled on top of that when he crossed his arms. The fine senses of Talia felt a swelling of his anger more than clearly. Without attracting attention, she put her hand on Zatanna´s shoulder and pulled her one step back. What would happen to Vicky didn't really matter to her at the moment. This woman's continued anger started to annoy Talia terribly. Fortunately, Zatanna had also noticed something and withdrew without resistance.
"Oh. What can I do with you?" asked Dracula as he nodded slowly. "What could I do to a being like you..." he pondered.
Even the Joker now felt a danger building up and crossed his arms giggling. "Oh do you feel that too? He is angry! WUHUUUU! He is about to bite me! But my doctor always says that I am so anaemic! I am already quite pale!" he roared loudly laughing as he disappeared into thin air for a moment.
After less than a second he reappeared, but with a completely different facial expression. Dracula opened his Fist again that he has closed just a Second before the Joker had Vanished. Only Zatanna had noticed the glowing of the Runes on his Gloves.
Anger, hate, panic fear and the desire to run away was clearly visible in his face.
"You... wouldn't dare! I would haunt you forever" he growled angrily but one could see that he seemed insecure.
"Zatanna my angel. Shall I show you how to bring a ghost back to life? Just imagine. I could give him a body that will never age, never die. Nothing in this world could end his life!" said Dracula and smiled almost diabolically.
At first Zatanna, Talia and Vicky thought that Dracula was crazy. Turning a man like the Joker into an immortal being was an absolutely stupid idea until they saw the Joker's face. Anger and hatred had completely disappeared and panicked, sheer fear was visible.
"That... would you... not..., you must not! NOT THAT" Joker almost begged.
"Bring my wife back. A single scratch on her flawless skin, a little hair bent over her... and I'll make sure that no one ever sees you again as more than you ever were. An insignificant marginal figure! A Failure... A being nobody will remember!"
"Okay.... I... can make an exception and pretend to obey! So... just because it might be funny..." the Joker stammered and tried to regain his composure but you could see that all three women had recognized his panic fear. As soon as the ghost was gone, Dracula smiled.
"How do you... scare the Joker?" Talia asked incredulously.
"You all still have a lot to learn about the nature of fear. And if I am not supposed to give you a lesson in this matter, I would advise you to hurry now to fulfill my wishes!
"Dearest! Forgive me for pointing out that we still don't know what your wife looks like," said Zatanna carefully and caught an angry look from Dracula one who, however, quickly became milder.
"As always you are the voice of reason and wisdom. Strange. Actually, I would have thought Vicky would have that voice." He said, blaming Vicky in the direction of Zatanna, who only angrily fanned Zatanna.
Shortly thereafter a blood figure appeared in front of Dracula showing a young woman in tight pants and a leather jacket. Talia and Zatanna looked at each other in disbelief as they recognized the woman's face.
"This is a joke, isn't it?" it blurted out the otherwise so controlled Talia.
Dracula asked "Joke? in astonishment.
"Cat-Woman is your reborn wife" asked Zatanna frowning.
