Chapter 30 by Twisted_Fellow Twisted_Fellow

Various needs

Bicycle shop

Angelo didn't have any trouble on his way to the bicycle shop. His eyes looked over the handle for the door, the owner had taken an unusual route, having fused a bicycle's handle bars to it. Hmm, well, that's different. Angelo couldn't help thinking that before opening the door. There were various bikes on display, some big, some small, a couple tricycles for adults, and even a quadricycle. It didn't take long for one mountain bike that seemed to stick out from the rest for him. It was a 30 speed Motobecane Fantom 29 Elite, with tubeless compatible tires, hydraulic disk brakes, and a remote lockout for more power when pedaling.

(Note: I do not own this picture, this is just to give a better idea of what to imagine when thinking of this bike)

It was on sale today for a little under $800. He was looking it over as someone came from the back of the shop, Angelo turned slightly, seeing a young man roughly in his mid twenties, he had chestnut brown hair and green eyes, he was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans, nothing really stood out. "Ah, that one is one of my favorites. Well, if you want a bike that can handle a lot of rough terrain, but I am getting ahead of myself. What can I do for you today? What are your cycling needs?" Angelo lifted a brow, turning fully to look at this man. He glanced down for just a second, seeing a name tag and this man's name written upon it, Michael. "I have been traveling around the town more lately to do some sight seeing. So I wanted to get a hardy bicycle for any possible unknown terrain." Michael nodded as if he had run into that type of response before. "Ah, I see. You have quite the eye for quality, sir. Given your needs this would be the best bicycle suited for you. Sadly, there isn't much better for the price that you can get around town, but there are some online if you are willing to wait." Angelo nodded slightly. He didn't want to wait and with his crafting skill he could just improve it over time anyways. "You must also be lucky. I had marked this one down just a little bit ago." Michael said before smiling. "Should I ring this one up for you? Or would you like to look around a bit more for other things you need. Perhaps a helmet, gloves, riding cloths, lights, and shoes if you are interested."

Angelo smiled, he had expected there to be some sort of sales pitch. "I will just start off with the bicycle for now. I will be back if I need anything else." Michael nodded. "Alright, come to the register when you are ready." Michael turned to head to the register. He kicked up the kickstand before heading to the register, Michael scanned in the tag of $795.95, there was a 10.25% sales tax, adding up to $877.53. "That'll be $877.53. Will that be cash or card?" Michael asked. "Umm, cash." Angelo replied, realizing that this would be his first time using his money since receiving his powers. He opened it near his pocket and clicked the amount he had, it asked him how much he wanted to withdraw and in what increments, he decided to go with an even $900 in twenties to create the illusion that he had it in his wallet. The money formed in his hand once he pulled it back from his inventory. He closed it before handing the money to Michael. After a short amount of time, Michael handed him back one of his twenties and the rest of his change for a total of $22.47. "Ah, right, my bad. You are sharp." Angelo said with a chuckle before putting his money back into his inventory near his pocket. That brought him down to $43,058.22, he was still amazed by how much he had. Angelo took the tag off of the bicycle shortly there after and walked out of the shop. Michael telling him to have a good day and he hoped to see him again soon. Angelo waved back to Michael saying, "Hopefully not too soon." He heard his phone's jingle as he turned away from the door, as it closed he picked up his phone, finding out that Erin had sent him a text.

Erin: "I just had a long conversation with Jasmine. May I come over? This isn't something I want to talk about over the phone."

He smiled before replying.

Angelo: "Oh? Sure, I will be there in a little bit. I just had a little shopping to do. I should be home in about five minutes."

He started to mount his new bicycle, placing his left foot on a pedal before he received a reply. Angelo thought that, that was quick.

Erin: "Sounds good, see you when you get there."

He put his phone away before pedaling towards home.

A quick ride home
