Kraven's camp

The journey through the jungle over Kraven’s shoulder was a vague blur for Sue, green and flashes of light and the musk of jungle flowers and the hard, strong body of the hunter. She finally came fully to herself lying on the ground at the feet of Kraven, who looked down at her from a camp chair. There was a smell of roasting meat in the air, and sitting on the ground next to the hunter was the promised radio. In his hands he held a battery, and she watched him put in in a case with an electronic lock.

“You shall have the combination when you have redeemed your word, Mrs. Richard,” he as he leaned back, watching her expectantly.

Sue lay, lost in thought, berating herself for her reckless promise. What had she been thinking? She loved Reed, she couldn’t betray him. Especially not with this man, a killer, a brute who hunted humans for pleasure. To give her body to him, to place herself totally under his power…but what choice did she have? She might never find her way out of the Savage Land without his help.
