Chapter 4 by Rowenar Rowenar

When does the spirit make itself known again?

Team meeting!

"Legends to the bridge! Includes you John. Ray, you're on thin ice."

Sara's voice chimed over the ship's speakers. Zari yawned and stretched, before rolling out of bed. At least it sounded like something had happened.

She changed quickly for the meeting, pulling on her jeans and swapping her top out for a plaid button-up. Quick adjustments to her ponytail and her totem-necklace completed her look, and once she felt she looked at least vaguely presentable she headed out of her room.

"Damn it," she muttered as the top button on her shirt came undone. She was still fiddling with it when she came onto the bridge.

Ok, she didn't exactly have her top done up super-high so that her totem could hang around her neck but still be exposed to the air and her skin, but that just made it all the more important to keep it done up.

She took her seat on the bridge. Ray and Mick were both sat already, and Nate had paid them a visit. That just left Sara standing at the front of the bridge.

"So turns out," Sara said, audibly both exhausted and annoyed, "Yesterday was completely pointless. Five hours later someone had the bright idea to actually double check our readings, and it turns out the supernatural presence in this time period is zero. Zilch. Nada. Total misfire."

Slowly, the buttons of Zari's top began to loosen. The top one was first, sliding out of the hole with silent ease, then the one under. There were no visible hands, no tugging on the fabric, they simply slipped apart.

A vague glimpse of a black sports' bra was visible when the first was undone. With the second it became clear. With the third her top was beginning to open enough to display an eye-catching amount of cleavage.

"And given there's nothing outside the ship, we're moving on unless anyone's made some emotional connection with a bunch of trees. No one? Good," Sara said. She turned away from the console to face her team, and faltered.

Sara blinked for a moment.

"Uh, Zee?" she said.

Zari frowned, then followed Sara's attention down. That was when she, along with the rest of the bridge, suddenly caught sight of her now totally-undone top.

Eyes widening, she quickly swallowed a yelp and tugged the sides of her top together, cheeks warm.

"I did it up, I swear," she said awkwardly. "Uh, give me a moment?"

She had to glower at Mick for a second before he turned away; then she hastily fumbled with button after button, at last concealing a much more decent amount of her chest.

"So, uh, what's the plan?" Zari said.

"Step one would be John actually turning up to a meeting," Sara said. She and the rest turned back. "Then we can work out why we got a misfire and stop it happening again, so we can get back to tracking dragons and unicorns and whatever else escaped the cage."

With the same silent smoothness, the button fastening Zari's jeans slipped open. She didn't notice, breath still coming a little faster from her brief exposure.

"Can't we just leave him in his room?" Mick grumbled.

"We're dealing with magic," Sara said. "We could do with a magician. But anyway, final look-over of this time and place, see if the misfire was a misfire because either way something's messing with our sensors. The only oddity were these reports of a black dog, here and here, both near where we searched..."

The team stood to approach the central table, upon which a map of the area was display. The moment Zari stood up, her undone jeans suddenly slipped down.

Thankfully they were tight enough to not immediately fall to her ankles. Less thankfully, the top was still loose enough that it folded back down to her knees, and her instinctive, embarrassing squeak was enough to draw four pairs of eyes to glimpse the smooth, bared skin of her hips, and her dark panties.

Cheeks hot, Zari hastily pulled her jeans back up, holding them together with one hand before she moved on to fastening.

"Ok, ok, you don't need to look!" Zari said.

"You ok?" Sara said.

"F-fine," Zari said. "It's just these clothes."

Slowly, her top button once more began to slide undone.

What's next?
