She's holding her own...at first.

Spark carefully picked out her targets as the pack of aliens galloped towards her. Saving her ammunition, she attempted to take down each one with a single shot. She was most successful too, only one pesky target needed three to go down. The lumbering muscle of a creature had stopped. Maybe he wanted to see her capabilities before he approached. Hopefully he was too scared of Spark to pursue, albeit that was more of a pipe dream that crossed her mind.

With his two higher arms, the beast pulled out a part of the wall that was bolted down. It appeared to be a special alloy or metal designed for the station. It was large enough to almost completely block his body, save for his hands holding the barrier and his feet. Suddenly he continued his sprint, causing Spark to smile as she knew she could hit his exposed body parts. But she wasn't ready for what happened next. While the top arms held the metal, almost like a shield, the bottom arms began to reach down towards the black carcasses of the other aliens. And in all one motion, the red creature began to toss the bodies towards her, quickly erasing her short-lived smile.

Bodies began to hit the crates Spark was hiding behind. While large boxes only moved with each dead alien, her vision, as well as being able to fall back, was becoming blocked. She waited until only about twenty yards separated the two to leap to the side form her vantage point. Spark held down the trigger as the metal shield and incoming fallen adversaries took the brunt of her shots.

"Come on, come on!" Spark said to herself as none of her shots were hitting the mark. She then realized that there was about two or three feet between the top of the brute's station wall fixture and the ceiling. A lightbulb went off on her head as she activated her suit's thrusters. Now normally these are for moving around outside of the ship, but Spark needed to risk using them in doors. The red creature was only feet in from of her as she hit the gas on the thrusters.

They gave her just enough of a boost to make it over the red freight train that was about to slam into her. She quickly turned in mid-air and aimed right for the back of the red bald head of her attacker. And just as she pulled the trigger...click. "Fuck!" whispered Spark, as she managed to land on her feet from hurdle. She checked her rifle and noticed she had used up the energy pack needed to fire the weapon. As she began to fetch one from a side pocket, she looked up to see the large alien turn and prepare for another charge, this time ditching his now barely existing shield.

As Spark looked back down at her rifle, focused on getting her weapon operational as soon as she could, she didn't notice the crawling of a wounded alien behind her. Spark took out the energy pack, slammed the cartridge into the weapon, and pulled a switch resulting in a blue glow. She aimed as the

"Time to die mutha- AHHHHHH!" cried Spark as she felt razor sharp teeth sink into her ankle. She looked down to see one of the small black creatures had crawled maybe four feet undetected, leaving a trail of green blood or some other bodily fluid. Spark tried to pull her ankle free but the creature had its teeth locked on her. She faced her weapon down and fired a single shot, point blank, into the alien's face. Her ankle was no longer on fire with pain and she turned herself back to her other foe. Just as her face turned, all she saw was red and felt her body fly through the air.
