"If we were dead, I wouldn't be hacking my lungs out," Lois punctuated her statement with a wracking cough that brought up my greyish goo. Her throat felt raw. Reaching out, she took the glowstick from the young woman's hands, meeting no resistance. "Let's see where we're at."

Holding the glowstick as high as she could, Lois surveyed the surroundings.

The other side of the river of spunk was a stone wall, rubbed smooth as though by time. The river itself emerged with the jizz about level, but the passage it flowed into was larger, with about a foot of free space...they could, possibly, swim the length of it, though where it came out Lois had no idea.

Their current resting-place was the end of a shallow descent...Lois noticed the water trickling down from the ceiling, drip by drip, stalactite to stalagmite. She held the light up, but couldn't see the end of it.

"Is this the way you came?" Lois eyed the tripping young woman. The wide eyes answered with a slow blink.

"I fell," Angelica's face twitched, nostrils flaring. "Sometimes I think I've always been here." Her nose twitched again. "You smell...good."

"It's this new perfume," Lois rasped. "Eau de sperme." The reporter struggled forward a few feet on hands and knees. The slope was a little slippery, and she was tired as hell, but she reckoned they might be able to make it...or fall back down and slide into the river.

She frowned. The young woman was bothering her. Obviously, she couldn't leave her behind, but unless she sobered up soon, she'd be a liability...

"Angelica," Lois began, then laid out their options. "...so, try to climb up or try to swim the river. What do you think?"
