Chapter 8
by
Rowenar
What should she do?
Apologise and explain things to Laurel
Wiping her hand on the sheets, Sara unsteadily stood up. She should… probably apologise to her sister. Things were awkward enough at this homecoming.
Still, she faltered at her doorway. It still felt uncomfortable to expose herself out there, not that she had a choice. At least she was inside.
She left her room, quickly finding her sister’s. A little nervously, Sara knocked.
She fidgeted while she waited. Even when she was alone in the hallway, she could feel how naked she was.
The door opened; Laurel blinked to see her.
“Uh, hey,” Sara said.
“You don’t have to say anything,” Laurel said. “I get it, I- I just don’t really want to talk about it. Sure, you… do that, I should have knocked, or-”
“N-no, right,” Sara said. “It’s not about that. Well it is kinda, just- Ok, this is going to get complicated, can I come in?”
Mystified, Laurel nodded. They both sat down; Sara tried emphatically to keep her eyes focused above her sister’s neck, cheeks colouring when Laurel plainly felt no need to do the same.
“I sort of changed something, when I was with the Legends,” Sara said. “A… pretty big thing. Well a few big things, but only one that really matters.”
Ok, how best to approach this? There didn’t seem to be any easy explanation. Sara swallowed.
“Ok,” she said. “What if I told you that the last time I was here, women wore clothes?”
“What?” Laurel laughed a little. “Don’t be silly, Sara.”
“No, I mean it!” Sara said. “I- Well the how gets a bit complicated, but I got distracted and suddenly that was… different.”
She met Laurel’s eyes; Laurel’s nervous giggle slowly faded.
“You’re serious?” Laurel said, slowly.
“Yes,” Sara said.
“You mean…”
“This is a little new to me,” Sara said. “So if I act weird, uh, that’s probably why.”
There was a pause, dragging on slightly. Then Laurel’s eyes went wide; suddenly she pulled back, glancing around the room before suddenly crossing her arms over her chest, not managing much more than drawing attention to the underside of her tits and accentuating her cleavage.
She flushed, almost a brighter red than Sara. Sara meanwhile blinked, taken aback.
“You seemed fine-” Sara began.
“When I thought it was normal!” Laurel said, voice a slightly higher pitch. “You mean people aren’t meant to see me like- but so many- Wait, you mean when I just caught you, you know…”
“You’d just shown me a bunch of naked celebrities,” Sara said, omitting the part where she fantasized about mutual friends. “It happens.”
“But-” Laurel began, cheeks colouring further. “If I’m not meant to be naked, then- Tell me you’re joking Sara, please.”
What’s better, the embarassing truth or a comforting lie?
