Your father

The door swings open, revealing Carl Doe, your dad... The biological one, this time. He looks it, too: seeing him is like taking a peek 30 years into your own future.

He smiles when he sees you, then wrinkles his brow as he notices Melanie. You watch his eyes as he looks her up and down: a moment's pause on her face, two or three on her deep cleavage, and another when he sees that your arm is wrapped around her. Luckily, he can't tell that you're currently kneading her soft butt cheek through the dress; that might complicate things unnecessarily.

"Hey, kiddo," he says, opening the door wider. "What's up? Your mother said something about you earlier... But to be honest, I wasn't really listening." He shrugs. "Here for a visit? With, uh..." You can tell that he was about to say something like "girlfriend," but he pauses; considering Melanie's age, perhaps?

"This is Melanie. She's my mother."

"...She's..." His brow wrinkles further. "That's, uh... What?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Doe," Melanie chimes in. "I think I see what's confusing you. I'm John's _biological _mother."

"B-but--"

"I know... Crazy, right?" You give him a reassuring nod. "All these years living with you and Mom, my adopted parents, and Melanie's been living ten minutes away the whole time!" You slowly and clearly, trying to make sure that he hears and understands every word.

"That's... Unbelievable." He shakes his head, giving Melanie another appraising look. "Absolutely unbelievable!"

"But you believe it, right?"

"Huh? Of course. Why wouldn't I--Oh dear, where are my manners," your father rambles. "Please, come in! We've got so much to talk about, and Sofia will be absolutely thrilled to meet you. Dear God, all this time..."

Giving Melanie one last reassuring squeeze on the bottom, you follow your dad inside the house.
