Disappointed But Accepting

Zack let out a more profound sigh as he pushed open his and Chloe's door, she immediately turned to him with a large small that faded away as she saw his face. "What? No boat?" Chloe asked walking towards him,

"No there's a boat..." Zack said with a growing agitation in his voice, making Chloe uncomfortable, "But of fucking course, everyone is going to join us."

Chloe instantly understood why Zack was so upset; she did make a little fuss about the movie last night to him. "Everyone?" She asked back, unable to hide her disappointment, mostly due to the fact that Ashley would be there,

"Yeah, Heather loved the idea," Zack replied while crossing his arms, "And you know Heather, if she likes something, she's going for it."

Chloe let out a little sigh before letting a smile return, "Hey, you know what, it's not a big deal." She said as she reached out and ran her hands over Zack's arms,

"It's not?" Zack asked back, genuinely surprised,

"Nope, this is still going to be amazing, and at night it'll be just you and me in our tent." Chloe answered, "So go on, perk up, I'm okay."

A little look of relief came over Zack's face; he was happy to know that he didn't fuck things up again, though this time it wasn't his fault. "Well since we're up, Heather wanted us to spread the word. I was thinking of getting Brandon up to help me get the boat, think you could tell the others?"

"Yeah, no problem," Chloe said with a nod, her brow almost raising realizing that this would be a perfect time to inform Ashley of her little secret, "I'll get that done right now."

"Good, if you need me I'll be in the den, my bet waking Brandon will take some time." Zack joked out to her, "That dude is one heavy sleeper."

Chloe let out a soft giggle as Zack left, she then closed her eyes a leaned against the bed. She started to think, Is it really worth it to keep fighting with Ashley? I mean, he loves me, when he fucked her we weren't even together. Everything she's tried to do hasn't worked, and now she could be fucking Kurt. Chloe shook her head; she didn't like what she was turning into either, Why am I even trying to stoop to her level? Maybe I should just come clean with Zack and tell him what she's doing. That would definitely ruin any chance for them...right? Chloe so desperately wanted to believe that, but the thought of looking so weak and scared of Ashley was destroying her. She still didn't want Zack to see her so helpless; it wasn't like she didn't trust him, it was the embarrassment.

Chloe let out another long sigh and shook her head, "She'll back off, Ash has to see that it's a lost cause at this point. We are best friends, lovers, hell we're almost everything to each other, no way he'd trade that just for her." Chloe said to herself, feeling invigorated by her words out loud.

With a little nod to herself she walked out of her room, Chloe looked to her left and smirked seeing Zack shaking Brandon lightly. She turned and headed up towards Gavin and Victoria's room, Chloe figured she'd rather start her day off on a good note by talking with them than a bad one with Ashley. She lightly knocked on their door and waited for a minute, she heard a little bit of hushed talking from the other side, and after a moment the door cracked opened, Victoria's one eye looked at Chloe, "Oh Chloe...um, hi!" She said with a smile, "Can I help you?"

"Um, yeah..." Chloe replied while rubbing the back of her neck, "I'm sorry, is this a bad time?"

"No," Victoria nervously replied, "No, no, no, it's fine. Gavin and I were just..."

"Changing Chloe, we were changing!" Gavin's voice suddenly called out,

"Yes! That's right; we were changing." Victoria quickly agreed,

"O-oh," Chloe mumbled back, the lie as thin as paper, "Should I come back in a minute?"

"Um," Victoria hummed back while glancing over to Gavin, "No, we're good, what's up?" She asked while opening the door fully,

Chloe awkwardly peered into the room, the bed looked disheveled, and Gavin clothes looked tossed on in a hurry, "Sorry to bug you guys so early," Chloe said while slowly entering the room, "I just needed to tell you guys that we were all planning on going to an island on the lake to camp. Wanted to know if you'd want to come."

"Oh, that sounds fun!" Victoria exclaimed, "Gavin, what do you think?"

"Yeah, totally, as long as you want to go." Gavin simply replied,

"I do," Victoria affirmed before looking back to Chloe, "What do you need from us?"

"Well, um, I guess you need to pack a bag, obviously, and...Gavin, maybe you should help Zack and Brandon with the boat?" Chloe guessed,

"Oh, okay, I'll, uh, I'll go do that right now." Gavin nodded while walking towards the door. He looked at Victoria and Chloe for a moment before leaning in and planting a swift kiss on Victoria's lips, "Okay, bye!" Gavin quickly exclaimed as he escaped the room,

Chloe held back a laugh as Victoria looked at the floor, her face turning cherry, "Not too comfortable with public affection yet?" Chloe asked,

"Not really..." Victoria agreed while turning away and walking over to her empty bag, grabbing the smaller of the three, "Guess I should pack up,"

"Want some help?" Chloe offered,

"Sure, thanks." Victoria replied while opening her dresser and digging through it for a few shirts that would be good for camping, "So whose plan was this?"

"Zack's and mine, I mentioned camping on an island after he said we should visit one. This morning he woke up and told me that's what we were doing." Chloe replied as she walked over and pulled open Gavin's dresser, she picked up a few changes of clothes and headed back over to Victoria's bag,

"Awe, that was sweet of him, all you had to do was mention it?" Victoria asked as she cocked her head,

Chloe couldn't help but laugh, "Yeah, he really is spoiling me this trip."

"About time, as I said, I always knew that you two were perfect for each other," Victoria replied,

"Seriously, how did you figure that? We didn't have this type of relationship before the trip." Chloe pointed out, a bit curious about Victoria's thoughts,

"Of course you two did, think about it, you two had been through everything, and you cared about each other so much. Then you guys come here and a few days later your dating. Obviously, all you needed was to be in the right situation to realize that you were meant to be together." Victoria instantly replied,

Chloe smiled to herself, "The way you say it makes it sound like a fairytale." Chloe lightly joked,

"And what's wrong with a fairytale?" Victoria asked with a raised brow,

"Nothing," Chloe nodded in agreement, "Nothing at all." Victoria flashed her a smile as she turned back to her dresser, "What about you and Gavin? That was a surprise."

"Was it?" Victoria asked looking a little perplexed, "Everyone keeps saying that."

"Well, I mean...I love Gavin and everything but you and him, I just didn't ever picture that." Chloe replied, doing her best not to sound rude,

"Why, because Zack had a crush on me or because you didn't think I'd like Gavin?" Victoria replied with a little-raised brow,

"Oh, you know about that?" Chloe asked with a little smirk,

"Gavin told me yesterday," Victoria replied while letting out a breathy laugh, "And just so you know, I had the crush on Gavin, not him."

"Really?" Chloe asked, overjoyed to know that her friend had found someone who truly liked him for who he was,

"Yeah, he was so cute and smart while still being so kind and understanding. I mean if I was shallow I could have gone for someone like Kurt, and honestly, I used to like guys like that, but they are such dicks." Victoria explained,

"Oh trust me, you don't have to tell me," Chloe said while shaking her head,

Victoria raised her brow and glanced at the door, making sure no one was there, "Something tells me, there's a story behind that." Victoria said to Chloe as soon as she realized no one was around,

"There is..." Chloe admitted,

"Oh, what is it?" Victoria eagerly asked, "I promise I won't breathe a word to anyone."

Chloe thought about it, and after a moment she nervously smiled, "Okay, fine, but you better keep it quiet." Victoria let out a quick nod, "So like the second night here, Kurt caught me in the hallway after his shower and tried to have sex with me."

"Oh god, seriously?" Victoria asked as she covered her mouth, giggling softly,

"Shut up; it wasn't funny." Chloe giggled back, "He dropped his towel and everything." Victoria only laughed louder, "He tried to act like he was so much better than Zack so I...um..."

"Oh you can't stop now, what'd you do?" Victoria immediately pressed,

"I slapped him." Chloe immediately as she started to laugh,

Victoria shared the laugh and raised her hand up for a high five, "Now that's what I like to hear!" Victoria exclaimed as Chloe slapped her hand,

Chloe continued to laugh for a minute before pulling herself onto the bed; she was enjoying gossiping with Victoria. It was nice not to feel uncomfortable or threatened when talking about her relationship or really anything. Chloe glanced around the room and stopped on a pair of boxes on the nightstand, one condoms the second morning after pills. "Oh, um, Vicky?" Chloe asked causing Vicky to turn, see what she as looking at and quickly snatch the boxes up,

"Oh god," Victoria whispered as she turned a deep shade of red, "Please, don't say anything."

"I won't!" Chloe quickly replied, "I just...could I have one?" Chloe asked in a hushed tone,

"What? A pill?" Victoria asked in surprise,

"Um, yeah...Zack and I...we kinda were a little stupid last night." Chloe explained, "It was both our faults, we got lost in a moment."

Victoria felt a sense of relief overcome her, "I get it. Obviously, I picked these up for a reason." Victoria replied as she opened the box and pulled out a few pills, "Here, take a few extra...just in case."

"Thanks," Chole replied as she slipped them into her pocket, "So you and Gavin did the same thing?"

"Yeah, it was that night we got drunk," Victoria admitted, "When we figured it out, we instantly raced to town."

"Smart thinking," Chloe replied with a little nod,

"You want some condoms?" Victoria offered,

"Oh, um, no...I don't think I'll need those." Chloe said after a moment of thought, while she was going to take the pill as a preventative, she wasn't truly so concerned about getting pregnant as she thought she would have been,

"Are you sure?" Victoria asked again only to see Chloe nod, "I wish I had your confidence, Gavin and I hate them, but we can't bring ourselves to do anything without them,"

Chloe let out a short nod, "Honestly that is smart but...I guess I'm just not worried about it. Zack and I...I don't know, I think deep down, I wouldn't be too upset if something happened." Chloe replied to Victoria's surprise, "I don't mean I'm gonna try to get pregnant, obviously," Chloe tacked on while flashing the pills once more, "I'm just not worried enough to go crazy over it...I think after the trip I'll just go on the pill or whatever."

"That's what I was thinking too." Victoria agreed, "But you honestly aren't freaking out everytime he finishes inside?"

"Well everytime when he finishes, he not usually in a hole that matters." Chloe blankly replied before letting her eyes go wide, causing both of the girls to turn red. Chloe slowly slid off the bed and back towards the door, "I think on that note, I'm gonna leave..."

"Right, we both-we both got a lot to do." Victoria agreed, neither able to look each other in the eye,

"Exactly," Chloe agreed as she turned around, "Bye Vicky!" She quickly said before closing the door behind her.
